Great early release
Just past "Phantom" and growing into her own, this is a decent mix of songs. I just got this here a month or so ago. The opening track is at home w/ some of her newer stuff, others one can feel her testing herslf in different areas. I recommend a new (or older) fan who has yet to hear this to try it. Sarah's growth as a singer is displayed here in some nice "pop" style tunes.

A different Sarah
I have to admit, I was reluctant to order this CD, but happy I did! Sarah's debut is quite astonishing. You mustn't compare this to her later work, for it has nothing to do with it. It simply is a collection of guitar-based, English orientated popsongs. Nothing more, nothing less. Far much better than "Dive" if you want to compare.

As I Came of Age-Thrilling
When I first heard this material I was impressed by her points of view. Especially the title cut. She and I share the same time frame "in coming of age" and I can relate well to the theme of this song. The other material in this CD reflects a range and talent unequalled in my eyes, of a performer with super abilities. I can relate to just about every song on this CD.

Not 'typical' Sarah-fare
This is not Sarah as most of you know her. Some of the songs and orchestrations don't really do Sarah justice, I feel. The album is an interim one - at the end of the Andrew Lloyd Webber years and before the Frank Peterson years, so it has an alien feel. 'Love Changes Everything' is the best track - not surprising as it is an ALW composition (the only one on the CD). This song shows up on lots of later albums so is probably known already by most of you. 'The River Cried' is, for me, the next best track - I found it growing on me. Two other tracks that may increasingly appeal are 'Something to Believe In' and 'Take My Life'. On the whole, this is not an album that does much for me but I know that some people like it. Good to have it, I guess, if you want a complete Sarah Brightman collection.
