Now That I've Found You: A Collection CD music FORGET ABOUT IT was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Country Album and for Best Engineered Album, Non Classical. "Forget About It" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. This is a Hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players. Alison Krauss is a genuine rarity: a bluegrass singer and fiddle player who achieved popularity without altering or commercializing her sound. On FORGET ABOUT IT, she again fuses bluegrass, country, and pop influences, covering unlikely tunes and making them sound fresh and new. Though there are very few true bluegrass tunes in this set, the bluegrass sound is here in full force. The close harmonies, Krauss' high, lonesome soprano, and the traditional-sounding dobro and fiddle are all at the heart of the sound here. The songs are mostly slow, subdued expressions of romantic melancholy and heartbreak. The musicianship is, as usual, both immaculate and inspired. Dolly Parton and Lyle Lovett show up to give harmony to the lovely closing track, "Dreaming My Dreams With You." FORGET ABOUT IT also contain some of Krauss' most memorable singing. A beautiful piece of work. Recorded at Emerald Sound and Seventeen Grand Studios, Nashville, Tennessee. Recorded at Emerald Sound Studios and Seventeen Grand Recording, Nashville, Tennessee. Now That I've Found You: A Collection songs Additional personnel includes: Larry Atamanuik (drums, percussion). NEW FAVORITE won the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album. "The Lucky One" won the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by A Duo Or Group With Vocal and for Best Country Song. NEW FAVORITE finds Alison Krauss & Union Station continuing to solidify the bridge between the worlds of pop and bluegrass that they helped forge in the '90s. Krauss's crystalline vocals continue to induce goosebumps and bring to mind a young Dolly Parton on the delicate ballads "I'm Gone," "Crazy Faith," and "Momma Cried" along with more traditional-sounding fare like the high lonesome "Take Me For Longing." With its musical democracy still intact, Union Station also delights with new member Jerry Douglas' fleet-fingered instrumental workout "Choctaw Hayride" and a dark-hued interpretation of the traditional "The Boy Who Wouldn't Hoe Corn" delivered by Dan Tyminski's supple tenor. (Tyminski's vocals may strike a recognizable note as his voice replaced George Clooney's on "I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow," a musical centerpiece on the O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU? soundtrack). Once again Krauss takes a non-traditional bluegrass approach towards picking material. Among the artists interpreted are legendary country-folk banjo player Dock Boggs ("Bright Sunny South"), '70s singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg ("Stars"), fellow New Traditionalists Gillian Welch and David Rawlings (the title track), and Rounder labelmate Robert Lee Castleman ("Let Me Touch You For Awhile," "The Lucky One"). Recorded at Seventeen Grand Recording, Nashville, Tennessee. Alison Kraus & Union Station: Alison Krauss (vocals, fiddle, viola); Ron Block (vocals, guitar, banjo); Dan Tyminski (vocals, guitar, mandolin); Barry Bales (vocals, bass); Jerry Douglas (dobro).

Now That I've Found You: A Collection album for sale Alison Krauss & Union Station: Alison Krauss (vocals, fiddle, viola); Dan Tyminski (vocals, guitar); Ron Block (vocals, guitar, National guitar, banjo); Barry Bales (vocals, electric & acoustic upright basses, arco bass); Adam Steffey (vocals, mandolin, mandola). SO LONG SO WRONG won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album. "Looking In The Eyes Of Love" won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. "Little Liza Jane" won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance. Twenty-five-year-old Alison Krauss has singlehandedly revived popular interest in bluegrass, and SO LONG SO WRONG finds her own popularity at a peak: It follows up her 1995 collection NOW THAT I'VE FOUND YOU, which sold an astonishing 2 million copies. SO LONG SO WRONG sticks to the combination of contemporary bluegrass ballads and traditional songs that has proved so successful for Krauss. The slower songs provide ample room for her to display her quietly haunting singing. On songs like "It Doesn't Matter," "Find My Way Back to My Heart" and "Happiness" (co-written by Krauss' brother Viktor), Krauss keeps her clean, clear soprano deceptively simple and unadorned; she doesn't overpower the listener or rely on gimmicky vocal effects. Union Station guitarist Dan Tyminski is an excellent bluegrass vocalist in his own right, and he sings lead on three of the album's best cuts, including a fine version of the traditional song "I'll Remember You, Love, In My Prayers." The one instrumental, "Little Liza Jane," doesn't suffer from its lack of vocals. For just as much as the members of Union Station can sing, they all can play. Mandolinist Adam Steffey squeeze more notes into the 1 minute and 43 seconds of "Little Liza Jane" than most mandolinists could play in a song twice as long. And Krauss--who first rose to prominence as a contest winning fiddler--more than holds her own. Personnel: Alison Krauss (vocals, tenor, fiddle, viola); Ron Block (vocals, tenor, guitar, banjo); Dan Tyminski (vocals, bass voice, guitar); Adam Steffey (vocals, mandola, mandolin); Barry Bales (tenor, acoustic bass, upright bass). Now That I've Found You: A Collection buy CD music Even those who don't instinctively like bluegrass will have a hard time ignoring the measure of Alison Krauss's talent. With an angelic, elastic voice that seems perfectly suited to the music, and her spectacular fiddle playing, Krauss has had a hand in revitalizing the genre and enjoyed popularity with bluegrass and mainstream audiences alike. I'VE GOT THAT OLD FEELING, Krauss's third outing for Rounder Records, released in 1990, was also her first Grammy-winner. Lilting dobro, banjo, mandolin, and sweet harmonies flank Krauss throughout these 12 tracks that range from ballad-like sway ("It's Over") to mid-tempo bounce ("One Good Reason") to chugging foot-tappers ("Dark Skies"). The album is also notable for its merging of traditional bluegrass roots with pop accessibility, pointing the way for Krauss's future releases and eventual commercial breakthrough. The band's down-home technical skills are unassailable, as "Will You Be Leaving" proves (with the banjo, mandolin, and fiddle lines on this song giving Flatt & Scruggs a serious run for their money). Above all, it is Krauss's subtlety and emotion that gives these tracks heart, making this disc the first in a string of the artist's defining releases. Now That I've Found You: A Collection songs Alison Krauss & The Cox Family: Alison Krauss (vocals, fiddle, viola), Suzanne Cox, Evelyn Cox, Lynn Cox, Willard Cox, Sidney Cox (vocals). I KNOW WHO HOLDS TOMORROW won the 1995 Grammy Award for Best Southerm Gospel, Country Gospel Or Bluegrass Gospel Album. It's a fact. Alison Krauss has the sweetest voice this side of heaven. Krauss' rapturous lead vocals and angelic harmonies, combined with the simplicity of the blugrass/gospel Cox family, are breathtakingly plain and sweet. With voices melding as one, Alison becomes an easy fit--almost familial--with the Cox clan. Suzanne Cox's warbly, fluid soprano is another cornerstone of this collection of traditional and contemporary hymns, and Willard Cox adds the laconic vocals that are so important to the genre. As usual, Alison's backing band, Union Station, is tasteful and first-rate. Highlights include a rocking version of Paul Simon's "Loves Me Like A Rock" and a spirited, old-timey version of Loretta Lynn's "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven." I KNOW WHO HOLDS TOMORROW transcends genre; displaying dashes of soul and jazz, it becomes an uplifting piece of art. Yet it is also an understated recording, acoustic yet powerful. It was a well-deserved winner of a 1995 Grammy Award and brought overdue recognition for the extraordinary singer, fiddler and (now) producer, Alison Krauss. It is a masterful collaboration. On this outing, we find Alison Krauss paired up with the first family of bluegrass gospel, the Cox Family. Hailing from Cotton Valley, Louisiana, the Cox Family epitomizes the gentility of American devotional music. Krauss and the Coxes are backed up on this disc by the great Union Station. As expected, there are many fine instrumental moments heard throughout. However, I KNOW WHO HOLDS TOMORROW clearly features the voices of Kruass and the Coxes. Krauss sings lead on only three pieces, but Suzanne and Evelyn Cox carry the message of faith as beautifully as one could imagine. Highlights include the waltzing "Remind Me, Dear Lord" and the swinging cover of the Paul Simon tune "Loves Me Like a Rock," which shows a more modern side to the Cox Family. Clearly though, it is the Ron Block tune "In the Palm of Your Hand" that is the album's high point. On this song of love and purity, Krauss's vocal melts your heart and reminds you why she is so beloved by fans of traditional American music. Recorded at Nightingale Studio, Nashville, Tennessee. Personnel: Alison Krauss (vocals, fiddle, viola); Willard, Evelyn , Lynn, Sidney, Alison, Suzanne Cox (vocals); Ron Block (guitar, banjo); Kayton Roberts (steel guitar); Rob Ickes (dobro); Adam Steffey (mandolin); Andrea Zonn (fiddle); Gary W. Smith (piano); Viktor Krauss (acoustic bass, electric bass); Barry Bales (acoustic bass); Kenny Malone (drums, percussion). Audio Mixer: Gary Paczosa. Recording information: Nightingale Studio. Photographer: Peter Nash . Arranger: Alison Krauss. Additional personnel: Ron Block (guitar, banjo), Rob Ickes (dobro), Adam Steffey (mandolin), Andrea Zonn (fiddle), Gary Smith (piano), Barry Bales (acoustic bass), Viktor Krauss (acoustic, electric & arco basses), Kenny Malone (drums, percussion).

Now That I've Found You: A Collection album for sale Alison Krauss & Union Station: Alison Krauss (vocals, fiddle); Tim Stafford (vocals, guitar); Ron Block (vocals, banjo); Adam Steffey (vocals, mandolin); Barry Bales (vocals, bass). Rivaling its Grammy-winning predecessor I'VE GOT THAT OLD FEELING, 1992's EVERY TIME YOU SAY GOODBYE features Alison Krauss's band Union Station in a transitional, but no less proficient, lineup. The group's tight, sympathetic backing provides the perfect counterpoint to Krauss's sweet, aching vocals and fiddle leads, offering harmonies and the occasional vocal lead (guitarist Tim Stafford on "It Won't Work This Time," mandolin player Adam Steffey on "Cloudy Days," banjoist Ron Block on "Shield of Faith"). There is an understated grace and ease here that distinguishes the album from Krauss's previous releases. This is most apparent on the gentle, melancholic ballads "Heartstrings" and "Who Can Blame You," but even on the up-tempo numbers, the ensemble's chemistry is such that the blazing instrumental lines seem effortless (see "I Don't Know Why"), and the overall sound is utterly relaxed, yet focused and intense. Recorded at Homeplace Studio, Suite 2000, Sound Shop B, Treasure Island Recorders and Champagne Studio, Nashville, Tennessee.
