The fifth album by Wylie Gustafson and his musical cohorts is again a marvelously honest modern-day stroll through the world of C&W music. The songs are filled with buckaroos, cowboys and wide open spaces; however, while it draws from a rich tradition, this is no mere nostalgia festival. Gustafson writes songs in the C&W tradition, but with his own perspective.
The song "Ridin' the Hi-Line" is an example, with its references to northern Montana, railroads and the spiritual redemption to be found by a secluded riverbank. Recording in Nashville, Gustafson utilizes an array of session musicians in addition to the regular Wild West players. Steel guitarist Duane Becker is the perfect foil for Gustafson throughout, mirroring his plaintive emotional balladry as well as his exuberant yelps and yodeling.
Recorded at The Ol' Bunkhouse Studios, Nashville, Tennessee in June & July 1999. Includes liner notes by Don Edwards, Jim Smith, Eddie Stubbs and Wylie Gustafson.

If a relaxing country style that brings to mind George Hamilton IV or, to a lesser extant, Marty Robbins, sounds good, then this album is for you. From the lovely little country amble on "Hooves of the Horses" that blends folk and country, lead singer Wylie Galt Gustafson is as mellow and laid-back as one can be. Ranjit Fernandez is originally from the east-coast town of Montrose in Scotland and has recently returned to the area after working in Qatar since 2000. In 2003, with the encouragement of Anthony Curtis (formerly of BOOM, www.anthonycurtis.net), he started composing and recording his music using a home-studio unit. Initially the songs were developed under the Unkle Fezter's Ear Project title and a triple CD album was produced. Hand-made CDs were sold in Qatar and abroad. The idea behind the music was to develop and present 3 genres of music simultaneously, each working on different moods and emotions. Songs in the 'Pierced' section are rock/metal orientated whilst 'Lobe' is the acoustic-driven collection presented as the 'soft' easy-listening alternative. 'Prostheses', as the name may suggest, is the experimental ambient/dance section working with loops and samples. Songs inspired by Qatar featured on his first retail release entitled Pearls.
