Singer/fiddler/accordionist Steve Riley and his Mamou Playboys are at the forefront of Cajun music's resurgence in popularity. The Cajun French Music Association voted the band's Rounder debut, Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys (Rounder 6038, CD and cassette), best album, best group, and best new group, and Riley was also voted best accordion player.
