(4 Customer Reviews)
This collection includes both the band's out of print EPs and 7"s in their entirety, along with collecting the band's various one-off compilation appearances. What separates this record from most compilations of its kind is both consistency and excellent sequencing. This is the band's best batch of songs since Goddamnit!, and although taken from disparate sources, the record has the feel of a long-player. The album's lyrical content explores a variety of topics -- well, at least topics that deal with drinking and girls. These beer-drenched tales of love (and more importantly, loss) are told with foul-mouthed eloquence not seen this side of Blake Schwarzenbach. This includes everything from the slacker alienation of "Cooking Wine," to the straight-on guilt of "I Lied My Face Off." A must for any Trio fan. ~ Ari Wiznitzer
This is a compilation of out-of-print 7" singles.
Recorded at Atlas Studios, Chicago, Illinois between 1996 & 1999.

Alkaline Trio Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) go out and get it never had a chance to listen, i bought for my friend. but yesterday i sat down and played the who album. it is good. Good, but not their best This CD, which is a compilation of two early ep's, starts off with incredible energy, but soon loses its intensity. Several of the songs are a bit long, which would have been more effective in the original ep format, but bog down this full length collection somewhat. The Cure cover is fun, and this CD is worthwhile, but check out Alkaline Trio's stronger efforts "Maybe I'll Catch Fire", and their debut "Goddamnit". This cd is great Not thier best but still it rocks. I don't get poet80's review here, "you sat down & listened to the who album" what's that got to do with this cd? you must have meant whole album, but not what you said. Anyway if you like this band this cd's worth adding to your collection. poet80 keep up The "Who" isn't even close to this style. ALK3's best to me! This album has some of the bands greatest songs like '97 and I lied my face off. Also I like the remix of Nose Over Tail. Should be the 1st or 2nd album in your ALK3 collection. Submitted by JFK (TWOO) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Purchase Alkaline Trio CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Steelheart CD (1991)
Alkaline Trio album
$7.25 Possessing metal pipes like few before him, leonine Steelheart yelper Michael Matijevic scarred the airwaves forever when he hammered the simply unmatchable chorus of the hairball "I'll Never Let You Go": ludicrous and sublime, akin to Whitney Houston hitting the hot spot in "I Will Always Love You." The opening strands of "Everybody Loves Eileen" bring Ratt out of the cellar before the cut curls into a pop n' fresh roller coaster ride. The remainders on this ridiculous dish are also overlong examples of excess but not as memorable, paying homage to Whitesnake and other flailing stylistic ventures. "I'll Never Let You Go" is available on some quality collections and no aficionado of poodle pomp should let that song go, otherwise leave Steelheart in peace with the music it helped lay to rest. ~ Doug Stone

| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Alkaline Trio songs
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully ...

$12.95 Tobin Sprout From Guided By Voices New Group
Recorded at Boston's Middle East club in on October 28, 2000, a few days after the quartet's New York debut, this CD perfectly documents this tour for the benefit of the multitudes who missed it. (This inaugural tour only hit the Northeast and Midwest.) The 27-song, 70-minute, unedited broadcast shows a formidable live unit toughening Tobin Sprout's equal selection of old Guided by Voices ditties from the early '90s, his solo tracks since leaving them, and brand new Eyesinweasel blasters. Those who have heard the lighter, more deliberate side of Sprout's pre-2000 originals (with much less edgy drums) will be surprised to hear them all done as if Eyesinweasel had recorded them instead. But that's also ...
| | Lonnie Liston Smith Explorations: The Columbia Recordings CDs (2002)
Alkaline Trio songs
$16.09 Keyboard wizard Lonnie Liston Smith has worn many stylistic hats throughout his career (though his trademark turban has seldom left his head), starting out as a prime exponent of straight-ahead jazz piano before moving into more commercial waters. Those enamored of jazz fusion, R&B, and funk will be well served by the two-disc anthology EXPLORATIONS, as it draws from the late-'70s/early-'80s period that found Smith incorporating all of those styles into a very distinctive amalgam. Sweet soul vocals, funky bass lines, and elegant sax solos abound, but the focus throughout the four albums drawn on for EXPLORATIONS remains on Smith's scintillating keyboard work. It will come as no surprise to admirers of his early work to note that he's an ace on the 88's, but Smith's dewy electric piano and crisp, percussive clavinet runs are equally impressive, embodying a certain '70s paradigm so completely that EXPLORATIONS feels like a time capsule intended to offer some grace and beauty to a less florid century.

Alkaline Trio album
$13.15 America...I\'m Talking to You is an album that was inspired by the historic presidential campaign going on this year! There are a lot of issues that are facing this country and I felt like I had to address them. I asked myself the question, \"if I was running for president, what would my platform be?\" Once I asked that, I began to write and it was clear that I had to discuss the economy, mobilize young people, and talk about issues that matter to the people that I know personally! You will not be disappointed by this album. The quality of music and production is the best I have ever been a part of. I tried to make an album that would change people\'s lives including my own! I believe that I did it this time! All praises be to God!Wes-E Bio...Early YearsIorwuese “Wes” Ifan or as his fans call him, Wes-E, was born February 18, 1981 in Nigeria in the town of Gboko. His family moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 1982. His mother had quite an influence in his early development. She stayed home to read books to him and instill a strong affinity for education. As a boy, Wes was always entertaining people. Whether he was imitating television characters or imitating dance moves on television, you could tell that he had an outgoing personality. Wes seemed to have a God given gift with the pen as a toddler. He imaginatively created his own story books at the age of 5! Early InfluencesMusic entered into his life very early. In fact, at the age of 8 Wes picked up the trumpet for the first time! Early on, even his mother could see the determination that Wes had to be the very best musician in his school. Wes practiced the same song tirelessly until he mastered it! There wasn\'t a doubt that music would play a significant role in his evolution into a young man.Later on, Wes would explore other artistic outlets and forms of expression. He was encouraged by his mother to read scripture verses in church to build his public speaking confidence. He was baptized at the age of 13 and later that year delivered his first sermon at a youth Sunday service at his home church. He continued to explore other musical outlets by participating in the church choir. Later, he would expand on his expressive writing talent by writing poetry.Musical CareerKnown for his spoken word approach to hip-hop, Wes-E (Minister Wes for those who have known him long) has an infectious personality that shines through in his music. He always finds a way to tug at your emotions with deep introspective songs. Wes-E has a knack for writing some of the most memorable stories in his rhymes...you might say his albums are audio books for the masses! Wes is highly focused on creating ...
