3 stars Great Chicago Blues!
While it might not be the punch in the gut that some Muddy or Wolf recordings were, this is a truly great disc. The combination of Shines' chicken-scratch guitar, Horton's spooky harp, Spann's piano, Allison's fatter-toned guitar (on 7 tracks) and two different rhythm sections really comes together for blues at it's best.
