$15.19 I did this CD in a quite incredible time - 1998. Let's see... my mom had just died, my son was diagnosed with a brain tumor... and my wife JoAnne was in a deep spiritual funk - long private story.. and my dad was lost at sea. It was a very rough time. This CD reflects a lot of that - me trying to encourage JoAnne to see that God, or The Creator, or The Quantum Wizard or whatever you want to call Him or Her... is immanent, and I was trying to deal with the impermancence of our brief blip on this planet... and wrapping it all up in a package that made sense to me. It was a very deep spiritual and emotional time for me so, don't expect this CD to be ANYTHING like Chasing Tumbleweed. It's just voices and guitar. Huge fun to do and my first step out after thirty some years of writing and recording songs. In spite of what I just said, this record has had a LOT of wonderful words said about it by some pretty honking folks. Go to my web site for the full skinny. It's pretty amazing how moved folks have been by what I abbreviate as 'The Hum'. I hope you are too!Check out my web site for more on these stories... plus music from my history, pix of all of it... and more than any one mortal could digest in one to twenty sittings. What follows is my autobiography that I'm sending out with packages with my new CD, Chasing Tumbleweed. Thanks for being here and taking the time to peruse my goods. Auto Bio In A BottleI was born just ten minutes from the White House in what is now known as The Bullseye or Ground Zero. This was before cars had big fins and enormous engines, before there was such a thing as rock and roll, back when a computer big enough to write this biography would have needed a ...

$9.35 Bethel High School 10th grader releases 5th Independent CD!Known to many of you as Walter Carl Parker, Jr., or CJ but to the rest of the entertainment world as L.O.C (short for Lil’Old C) This young man has been recording, performing and releasing “Positive” hip-hop music since the age of 5. Now 16 yrs. Old L.O.C has released his 5th CD under his dad’s TRU-TALENT RECORDS label. Born on Nov. 5,1992 the son of W. Carl Parker, Sr. and Tishawna Parker, “L.O.C.” has worked overtime to put his City on the map. He is among other things an exceptional student, and accomplished martial artist, a pool player, and a role model. He has been featured in numerous newspapers and magazines locally and nationally. Among them: the Daily Press, The Virginia Pilot, The NEW Journal & Guide, The Hampton Roads Voice, Word Up Magazine, Songwriters Monthly, Nine Volt Magazine, Mix Magazine and Portfolio Weekly to name a few. Rap to “L.O.C.” is more than a past time. “This is my life!” as he is quoted saying in an interview recorded (video) at the young age of 5 years old. (His story)L.O.C first recognized his rapping skills at 5-years old in the back seat of the car coming home from karate practice. Dad overheard him singing to several songs that were being played on the radio. And once they arrived home decided that he would call young CJ to his recording studio and have him sing something into the microphone and see how it sounded. After CJ sang a line that his dad had quickly jotted down on a scrap piece of paper, dad called the other family members into the room to witness what even he could not believe. CJ had talent! A few months later dad saw a talent contest being held at a local music store and decided to let CJ enter. There were 40 contestants age 15 and younger, CJ was the youngest. “I remember when they handed my son the microphone and he was just standing there….” They asked, “Are you ready?” CJ nodded his head. And when the beat came on CJ transformed into this remarkable young talent. “It caught everyone in the room by surprise!” CJ won 1st place! After which, the articles and the interviews started pouring in. The timing could not have been better. CJ’s father had just finished building his home recording studio in hopes to produce local talent. ...
