Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Soundtrack English Six ordinary people (student, ex-con, engineer, social worker, cop, mentally handicapped) are trapped in a maze of interlocking cubes with no apparent way out. They have no recollection of how they got there or why they were chosen. They have no food or water and upon further investigation discover some of the rooms are booby trapped with creative devices of destruction. After the initial panic, they come to realize that each person possesses a unique ability which may aid in their safe navigation through the rooms and a possible escape. Can they overcome personal conflict and work together? Interesting set design, moody lighting, and creative computer generated imagery add to the claustrophobic feeling of Vincenzo Natali's film, which was a hit at several festivals in 1997. Cube Reviews: "...Surprisingly gripping, in the best TWILIGHT ZONE tradition....The ensemble cast does an outstanding job..."
-- Anita Gates, New York Times "...Highly ambitious and cerebral....The film gradually pulls you into its claustrophobic spell and becomes acutely suspenseful..."

$8.55 In Tim Burton's stylish, creepy retelling of the classic Washington Irving story, SLEEPY HOLLOW, Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) is a squeamish, bookish 18th century New York City investigator sent to a small town in lower Westchester county to look into three mysterious decapitations. When the always rational Crane arrives at the little Dutch village, he finds that most of the townsfolk believe the culprit to be the Headless Horseman, the ghost of a monstrous Hessian soldier (Christopher Walken), who seems to be mysteriously tied in to one of the town's most prominent families. Burton's natural instincts for campy humor, combined with the hauntingly gorgeous technical work (Emmanuel Lubezki's cinematography and ...

$10.29 In M. Night Shyamalan's THE SIXTH SENSE, Bruce Willis plays Dr. Malcolm Crowe, a successful Philadelphia child psychologist who is haunted by the sudden reappearance and suicide of a former patient. Months later Dr. Crowe encounters Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment), a troubled, withdrawn young boy who bears a striking similarity to his earlier patient. Dr. Crowe is compelled to help Cole, not only for the boy's sake, but for his own redemption. As Dr. Crowe struggles to determine what torments Cole, he must also come to terms with his increasingly distant relationship to his wife (Olivia Williams). Meanwhile, Cole is unable to describe the horrible things he sees even to his worried mother (Toni Collette). The scene where Cole finally tells Dr. Crowe about his supernatural secret is one of the 1990s most quoted and well-known cinematic moments.
A gripping ghost story with a stunning finale, THE SIXTH SENSE became a surprise blockbuster shortly after its release. The film features Oscar-nominated ...

$21.49 FIGHT CLUB is narrated by a lonely, unfulfilled young man (Edward Norton) who finds his only comfort in feigning terminal illness and attending disease support groups. Hopping from group to group, he encounters another pretender, or "tourist," the morose Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter), who immediately gets under his skin. However, while returning from a business trip, he meets a more intriguing character--the subversive Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt). They become fast friends, bonding over a mutual disgust for corporate consumer-culture hypocrisy. Eventually, the two start Fight Club, which convenes in a bar basement where angry men get to vent their frustrations in brutal, bare-knuckle bouts. Fight Club soon becomes the men's only real priority; when the club starts a cross-country expansion, things start getting really crazy.
Like Tyler Durden himself, director David Fincher's FIGHT CLUB, based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk, ...

| | Siddhartha DVD (1972) Widescreen
Cube review
$23.45 This is a timeless, universal story adapted from the novella by German writer Herman Hesse, about youth, the search for one's place in the world, and the struggle for happiness. Based loosely on the Indian mythological story of the prince who went on to seek enlightenment and become the Buddha, the film was made in a breathtakingly beautiful part of Northern India by director screenwriter Conrad Rooks (CHAPPAQUA) and cinematographer Sven Nykvist.
Siddhartha, played by renowned Indian actor Shashi Kapoor, becomes disillusioned with the quest for spiritual enlightenment, and turns to the pursuit of material wealth. Unfortunately, he discovers that the truth remains elusive on either side of the fence, and that what ultimately makes life worth living is inner contentment and love. At once a kind of "road movie," a historical drama, and a period piece, SIDDHARTHA leaves a lasting impression on the viewer, for both its lush visual quality and the profound story that unfolds.
A glorious adaptation of the classic Herman Hesse novel, "Siddhartha" was filmed by Conrad Rooks with legendary cinematographer Sven Nykvist in Northern India. Bewitched ...

$28.65 Gaston (Herbert Marshall) and Lily (Miriam Hopkins) are a cunning pair of jewel thieves who share much more than the riches they acquire. A loving bond that unites them accompanies the lovers on every job. A merry Parisian widow (Kay Francis) seems ripe to be plucked by this enamored couple. An unlikely love triangle blooms instead when Gaston falls for the beautiful widow's charms and is left to decide between these two stunning, but vastly different, women.
Ernst Lubitsch created films with visual elegance, a razor-sharp wit, and bold sexuality. The "Lubitsch Touch" is most fully evident in this 1932 romantic comedy. Glossy Victor Milner photography, stunning Travis Banton gowns, and suave performances in no way disguise the conniving nature of all parties involved in the film's central love triangle. Nor do the immoral characters hinder the blissful romance. Hilarious dialogue from regular Lubitsch collaborator Samson Raphaelson and co-writer Grover Jones crackles throughout the picture. Flawless in every aspect, this influential work is one of the cinema's greatest romantic comedies.
When thief Gaston Monescu meets his true love in pickpocket ...
