Moon Safari Music Review Average Rating: (4.4 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews The best of both worlds: oldie-style and new-style stuff This is one heck of an album to listen to. Not only is it jazzy, but it is laced with synth effects, pop rhythms and melodies, and long instrumentals, it also uses the vocoder on at least two tracks (Kelly Watch The Stars, New Star In The Sky). It makes for an album that is calm and relaxing, but so engaging that you can't keep your mind off of it. You'll find that you were playing it in the car, in your music player at home, on your ipod, and more, and you can't figure out how it got there. In any case, it is one heck of a smooth ride, from the opening instrumental "La Femme d'Argent" to the plodding "Sexy Boy" to the almost lyrical folksiness of "All I Need" to the nostalgic "Remember" and the banging "Kelly Watch The Stars", there are tons of interesting details and emotions that pass through you when you listen to this album. It's a modern classic, and not because it's modern. It has roots in jazz, almost classical, and pop music, combining them all effortlessly into what could be called a completely new genre. It's a classic that is the little electronica album that could. Submitted by Galen (Anchorage, AK, USA) Was This Moon Safari Music Review Helpful? Yes No
