S.O.D.'s Speak English or Die was an important record in the fusion of hardcore punk with thrash and speed metal, making even more explicit the connections that Anthrax's music implied. The tone of the music is crushingly loud, fast, and aggressive, but not at all serious -- the record is filled with goofy, macho humor, some of which holds up well (i.e., the three-second "Anti-Procrastination Song," an ode to "Milk") and some of which is quite racist and sexist. However, the music blasts by at such a frenetic pace (22 tracks in under half an hour) that the more offensive lyrics are often incomprehensible, so some may find them easier to ignore. Still, it's the loud-fast-rules music that made an impact, and mosh fans will quickly understand why.~ Steve Huey

Until recently I've listened to a garbled, beer splashed, copy of somebody's SOD cassette from 10 years ago. I lost it, not that it was any good sound quality anyway. So I bought this CD and WHOO! Loved every minute of it and I really dig the bonus tracks. The only reason I gave it a 4 and not five is that there are no lyrics in the package. I like to read the lyrics, and when you're listening to SOD, you kinda' need them to know what's being said.

 DEFINATE MUST HAVE!!!
ANYONE who likes hard,fast,heavy metal needs to own this album.You can't know where you are going if you don't know here you've been,so to all who like good grinding metal,GET THIS ALBUM from "back in the day"!

I give SOD 4 heads on a pole
I very much enjoy sitting in a hot bubble bath, with the lights out and only the flicker of candles to light the room, and letting the relaxing sounds of Seargant Death and the SOD wash away the pain of another day at work. I would highly recommend this CD to anyone who likes this sort of ear drum shattering metal.

i have no words to describe the feeling i experienced everytime i put this recording on my cd player.
Its simply a brilliant piece of work that makes me bangs my head song after song. My favourites: The march of sod, kill yourself, fist bangin mania, milk , pre mestrual princess blues etc.

DAMN!! This has to be one of the fastest and heaviest punk album's of the 80's , I can really mosh into this one . My Favourite ones would have to be MLIANO MOSH , KILL YOURSELF, PRE-MENSTRUAL PRINCESS BLUES, and F*#K THE MIDDLE EAST. Mosh Or DIE!!
