Excellent Album, Well worth Purchasing
Of the 10 or so songs on this album there is only one I would consider as rubbish and that is 'Surf Wax America'. Best song is 'Say it aint so' by far. It is probably Weezer's greatest ever, crisp heavily distorted guitar (without being brutally heavy) used in the chorus with a very catchy verse arrangement. The two songs released i.e. Buddy Holly and the Sweater Song are probably the best known for obvious reasons but are only average in comparison with other tracks on this album, not taking away from either tune, they are both very good, particularly the Sweater Song. Love the Smashing Pumpkin Sound used in 'The World has turned and Left me here' - realtively unknown song but for me it is the second best on the album with 'Only in dreams' a very close third. Overall, this album has enough distorted guitar, solid riffs, nice acoustic clean sound pieces, harmonised vocals and catchy rythyms to keep you coming back to this album for a long, long time. Blows the Green album out of the water in a huge way!!
