After releasing a number of 7" singles over the years, Blink 182 offers CHESHIRE CAT, its full-length album. The San Diego based group (that started out as El Cautro and the Caj'ones) has honed its playing, songwriting, and surfboarding skills to create a fun record for all. Punky and melodic, CHESHIRE CAT is a great party album. The pace rarely lets up and the songs don't wander too far stylistically, but nothing exceeds like excess!
"Does My Breath Smell?" is a funny tune of teenage ambivalence. Furiously fast, the song begs one to get up and move (and not care how you look). "Cacophony" starts off with a slow bass line leading into a melodic intro. The pace then accelerates, with speedy riffs and crashing drums. "Romeo and Rebecca" throws some slight changes and ska into the mix, while album closer "Depends" has vocalist Tom Delonge unable to control his bladder. Blink-182 is a spirited group, coming up with hysterical lyrics and tight, well produced music. They are a skate and surf band who can really play, and this album should appeal to punk and hardcore fans.

Masterpeice This CD is a hidden treasure. Not many blink fans today know that they didn't always use to be so emo, sad, and sellouts. Me personaly, I hate their new stuff. It sounds patehtic. But this CD? This thing is friggin awesome. If it weren't for this CD I wouldn't have played guitar, started a band, and get into punk. It sounds absolutely nothing like their new werid stuff.
It's funny, fast, not overly edited, and just overall rocking. One of my top favorites. Buy it and you'll see what I mean. You
ll be like, "What? This is blink? Why don't they play this anymore?" Well, i wish I could answer that but I don't know. It's awesome. Get it. Submitted by enjoiCam (Snohomish, WA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Real Blink 182 music This album IS actually a good punk album, not the modern pop-crap they now produce. If all of blink's albums were similar to this one then they would be one of my fave bands up there with NOFX.
Their latest album, self titled, is decent even though it sounds nothing like cheshire cat, because at least it doesn't sound like their other teeny bopper albums either.
Blink why did you lose your direction? Submitted by having-fun (Sydney, NSW, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
NO!!! This is NO good rock; and NO good punk. There are lots of other bands that are at least ten times better. Don't get me wrong; I like punk and rock; but I don't like this Submitted by tommie (holland) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

A live run through of Blink 182's greatest hits, recorded before adoring California crowds, this album is probably the best way to experience these endearing pop-punkers' infectious three or four chords Green Day-ish sonic assault. Highlights include the uncharacteristically ...

Cheshire Cat
$8.09 Joe Pernice could whisper throughout an entire record and still keep you on the edge of your seat. Whether heard loudly through a state-of-the-art hi-fi in your bedroom or noisily through the blown speakers of your '79 Pinto, his voice will grab you. One can forgive the schizophrenia of guises in his discography given the prolific and consistently great material that runs throughout it. Whether he operates as/with the Scud Mountain Boys, the Pernice Brothers, Chappaquiddick Skyline, or now under his own name (although the artwork doesn't display this), Pernice continues to unleash excellent songs as if they were erupting from a magical spring of classic songs. The real kicker is that Pernice has had these droplets in his bucket since he was with the Scuds. These songs were intended for the band's fourth record, and thankfully something provoked him to bring them to the surface. Like the Chappaquiddick record, he considers this side project fodder, not good enough for his primary vehicle in the Pernice Brothers. Talk about underestimating youself! A couple songs definitely have the slant of Massachusetts-era ...
