Synthesizer, electric guitar, flute and lyricon merge on this album to take the listener on a musical odyssey... ~ MusD what inspired the creation of the light of tao was to create an album that was totally in harmony with nature and spirit....creating a natural flow without pushing or forcing something happen....so this resulted as an improvisational album that became very rich in its spontaneity, and working with 3 other fine musicians like kip setchko on flute, dallas smith on lyricon, & jean st. laurent on harp. we all let ourselves just breathe life into the music and allow the music to breathe its light and life into us. "life has no formula. like the wind blowing over the ocean and the movement of the clouds, the opening of a flower, the mover and moved are one and the same being. when we allow this natural flow within ourselves to guide our every move gently & without resistance, we become the tao. the cultural boundaries between east and west are rapidly dissolving, as intercultural ties are exchanged through our economies, ecology, & spiritual traditions which are interwoven in the fabric of our planetary evolution. this flow of nature lives and breathes in all forms of life as the tao, or "the way." "the light of tao" is an offering to this peaceful way of approaching life from a place of non-duality, and learning to walking the buddha wisdom of the middle path." ..... aeoliah 1984

Light Of Tao album
$8.69 All tracks have been digitally mastered using HDCD technology.
The Dire Straits' mastermind's first non-soundtrack solo album is a refreshingly diverse outing. Mellower overall than his previous fare, there's still plenty of stunning guitar work and solid songcrafting to be had here. The songs cover a lot of stylistic bases, from rock to folk, Celtic, blues and somber balladeering. The disc is full, yet its diversity never becomes superfluous. A well-planned and pleasing slice of craftsmanship from one of rock's reigning originals.
Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee; London, England; Dublin, Ireland.

Light Of Tao album
$13.45 Karunesh's second album is a pleasant mix of easy-listening pop and smooth jazz. If from that description you suspect this album of synthesizer ballads is laid-back, you'd be right, but there is enough melodic intrigue to keep things interesting. "Dazzled by the Light" is a smooth cha-cha featuring ...

| | Eagles Long Run CD (1979) Japan; Mini LP Sleeve
Light Of Tao album
$30.95 THE LONG RUN, the Eagles' long-awaited follow-up to their hugely successful HOTEL CALIFORNIA, was the celebrated group's final studio album. By the time THE LONG RUN was released in early 1979, the laid-back West Coast rock scene that The Eagles had dominated throughout the decade had pretty much run its course. Many of the biggest rock groups of the era -- including The Eagles--were incorporating new influences into their music and toughening up their sound.
While similar in feel to HOTEL CALIFORNIA, THE LONG RUN is a far more diverse album that features an immaculately crafted set of songs ranging from the soulful pop of the Don Henley-sung title track and "I Can' t Tell You Why" to tough, country-influenced rocker "Heartache Tonight" and the epic, dynamic "In ...
| | Mariza Transparente CD (2005)
Light Of Tao CD music
$13.49 Transparente is Mariza's "big" album, it seems, the one designed to make her more than just the shining star of the new fado. The music connects the dots between Portugal and Brazil, giving an international quality to it all. Her voice is as crystal clear as ever, and production by Jacques Morelenbaum is wonderfully transparent. Yet there's a sheen to it all that seems intended to rub off any rough edges. You can hear it in the soft strings that cushion "Meu Fado Meu." It just seems to be trying too hard, rather than letting the music unfold. It's apparent, too, in the fact that the songs are all short -- the longest barely passes three-and-a-half minutes. Not that it's not a gorgeous album; it enfolds the ears like silk; Mariza herself has never sounded more seductive, and the cello on "Quando Me Sinto So" is as warm and inviting as a lover's kiss. But unlike her previous work, there seems an air of calculation about all this, the sense of deliberately seeking out a larger audience rather than allowing the music to speak for itself. She'll never sing a bad note, and there's absolutely nothing to fault with this album. The ...
