Art Of The Lautenwerk Customer Reviews
| Average Rating: | |
| The Art of the Lautenwerk Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the CD 'The Art of The Lautenwerk. This Cd on the Gasparo label appears to be of outstanding quality. The selected material is appropriate because it originates from the period when the Lautenwerk was widely used. The music is delightful to listen to. As far the instrument itself is concerned, the fact that this recording is 16 years old suggests that the instrument is one of the early ones build by Willard Martin. The richness and color of the sound of the instrument is astonishing and especially the deep sonority and volume of the bass is stunning. Kim Heidel is the apparent master of the instrument. Since the Lautenwerk is new in the present time, it deserves a promotor like the harpsichord found about 100 years ago in Wanda Landovska. Then it will probably gain a wide following of supporters. Regards, Jan de Graaff. By res0i93i (Ashland, KY, USA) |
