Wrong Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) A must for any songwriter collection... From the "Victory Review":
This debut album from Seattle singer-songwriter Scott Katz beautifully
captures the irreverent wit and warmth of his songs. Katz's understated vocals, somewhat reminiscent of John Prine, are the perfect delivery vehicle for well-crafted, insightful and humorous lyrics. This album is a lot of fun, and from the hilarious "the Wrong Song" to the lovely "Carolina Eyes", there is a breadth rarely heard on first offerings and a wealth of
good ideas that really stick with you. The emphasis is on humor ("Love and Lunch", "Beer is Good", "Kenny G"), and the lean, tasteful production by Sam Masich and tongue-firmly-in-cheek performance by Katz makes it work. The album features flawless supporting vocals by Katie Peterson and Christine Duncan, and mandolinist John Reischman and Canadian harmonica virtuoso Keith Bennett also make outstanding contributions. Peterson's lead vocal on the wry "Write Me a Letter" (so I can throw it away) is not to be
missed. The live tracks are well recorded and capture Katz's rapport with an audience that is clearly having a good time. This is excellent writing on a great debut album, and a must for any songwriter collection. Submitted by a reviewer (Seattle, WA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Sugarland Gold & Green CD (2009)
Wrong CD music
$12.35 Georgia's Sugarland rose to great heights in 2009 - their 2008 album LOVE ON THE INSIDE reached platinum status, they recorded a prime-time network television special called LIVE ON THE INSIDE, which was then released in numerous packages that all sold well, and the group has sold out live shows globally. Therefore it seems to make sense for the group to release yet another stop-gap before the year runs out in lieu of a new studio album. GOLD AND GREEN is a hybrid ...
| | Darius Rucker Learn To Live CD (2008)
Wrong music CDs
$10.29 Although for the rest of his life, underinformed fans of 1990s pop will forever be calling Darius Rucker "Hootie," the former Hootie & the Blowfish singer-songwriter makes his solo debut with a perfectly credible take on mainstream contemporary Nashville country. The laid-back, largely acoustic folk-pop of Hootie & the Blowfish was never that far removed from contemporary country in the first place, so only the fact that ...

| | Alison Krauss I Know Who Holds Tomorrow CD (1994)
Wrong music CDs
$13.95 Alison Krauss & The Cox Family: Alison Krauss (vocals, fiddle, viola), Suzanne Cox, Evelyn Cox, Lynn Cox, Willard Cox, Sidney Cox (vocals).
I KNOW WHO HOLDS TOMORROW won the 1995 Grammy Award for Best Southerm Gospel, Country Gospel Or Bluegrass Gospel Album.
It's a fact. Alison Krauss has the sweetest voice this side of heaven. Krauss' rapturous lead vocals and angelic harmonies, combined with the simplicity of the blugrass/gospel Cox family, are breathtakingly plain and sweet. With voices melding as one, Alison becomes an easy fit--almost familial--with the Cox clan. Suzanne Cox's warbly, fluid soprano is another cornerstone of this collection of traditional and contemporary hymns, and Willard Cox adds the laconic vocals that are so important to the genre. As usual, Alison's backing band, Union Station, is tasteful and first-rate. Highlights include a rocking version of Paul Simon's "Loves Me Like A Rock" and a spirited, old-timey version of Loretta Lynn's "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven."
I KNOW WHO HOLDS TOMORROW transcends genre; displaying dashes ...

| | Don Edwards Last Of The Troubadours: Saddle Songs, Vol. 2 CDs (2004) Special Edition
Wrong album
$22.85 Don Edwards does qualify as one of the last troubadours, so the name of his 2004 album is fitting. Sure, there are a number of singers specializing in Western folk songs, but there are too few to even call themselves a movement. More like a few folks who still believe in the beauty of the spare, simple ballad that was born out of the experience of cowpokes, gamblers, and bronco-busters on the open ranges ...
| | Gabriel Katona Rumors Have It CD (2004)
Wrong CD music
$14.79 When Gabe Katona was still too young to get into nightclubs, he paid for a fake ID so he could begin his career as a musician. But, he didn't have a portable keyboard. For Katona the solution was simple. He rented a school saxophone and started playing and singing in the local Los Angeles clubs to earn the money he needed. This resourcefulness carried him from the clubs of L.A. to playing on smash hit records with some of the hottest artists of the seventies and eighties ...
