Schrei X album for sale by Diamanda Galas was released Oct 22, 1996 on the Mute label. SCHREI X LIVE is a live performance (intended by Galas to be experienced in total darkness) based on a 1994 radio work. "This is not ambient music," admonishes a proclamation in the booklet accompanying this release Schrei X songs. One wonders why Diamanda Galás or Mute thought this warning necessary, as Schrei X, presented here in both live and studio versions, is essentially a sequence of Beckettian monologues alternately shrieked, spoken, whispered, cried, or spat out, bearing little resemblance to the gentle waftings of Kitaro and crowd.   ...See Full Description
