Black & White; Standard Screen; Soundtrack English If some creatures from outer space have their way, the earth's dead will rise again to conquer the living.
One of the most famous of all cult classics -- fans claim it's the worst film ever, and love it for just that.
PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE is Ed Wood's unintentionally hilarious film in which aliens plan to take over the world by resurrecting only three corpses. Horror icon Bela Lugosi died during production and was replaced by a chiropractor who hid his face behind a cape. The film also features Vampira and wrestler Tor Johnson. Quite possibly the best bad movie ever made, PLAN 9, with its hubcap flying saucers on strings, is sure to entertain. Released as part of the Wade Williams Collection (copyright renewed 1986). Filmed in Hollywood, California.
Bela Lugosi, who stars in the picture, died four days into the shoot, and had to be replaced by a double (who was actually the chiropractor of Ed Wood's wife). Plan 9 From Outer Space Quotes/Excerpts: "My friends, can your heart stand the shocking facts about grave robbers from outer space?" (Criswell, in opening)
"We haven't always fired at them... For a time, we tried to contact them by radio, but no response. Then they attacked a town. A small town, I'll admit, but nevertheless a town of people. People who died." (Colonel Edwards)
"Plan 9,... Ah yes, Plan 9 deals with the resurrection of the dead. Long distance electrodes shot into the pineal and pituitary glands of recent dead..." (Ruler to Eros)
"We do not want to conquer your planet, only save it... If you persist in denying us our landings, then we must only accept that you do not want us on friendly terms. We then have no alternative but to destroy you before you destroy us. With your ancient juvenile minds, you have developed explosives too fast for your minds to conceive what you are doing. You are on the verge of destroying the entire universe. We are part of that universe..." (Eros, in a message to Earth)
"Well, wouldn't it be better to kill a few now, than, with their meddling, permit them to destroy the entire universe?" (Eros to his cohort, Tanna) Plan 9 From Outer Space Reviews: "...The fondly regarded auteur's best known work..."
-- Danny Leigh, Sight and Sound "...It's the divine inspiration for everything from MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 to Tim Burton's Oscar-winning Ed Wood..."

Plan 9 From Outer Space Video Plan 9 From Outer Space Movie Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) PLAN 9 THIS MOVIE WAS SAID TO BE THE WORST BUT TO ME I LOVED IT . ALSO THIS WAS BELA LUGOSI'S LAST MOVIE AND I HAD TO HAVE IT YOU CAN NEVER GO RONG WITH HIM . SO THERE YOU GO Submitted by zardos357 (LITCHFIELD KY.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Can you Prove It Didn't Happen? I don't know why modern day critics gave this movie such bad ratings. You stick a nine year old kid in front of a movie screen showing aliens from outer space resurrecting the dead is enough to scare the dickens out of him or her, whatever the case may be. Well, this is exactly what happened to me. Plan 9 was scary to me because of the content. I liked the movie, paper plates as flying saucers and all. Tor Johnson and Vampira as zombie slaves to a pair of aliens, and Bela Lugosi , well what can I say, all star cast?. Psychic Criswell narrated this movie for atmospehere I guess. Ed Wood created a classic, there are no bad classics contrary to the critics. Can you prove it didn't happen? Happy Holloween! Submitted by jwilson_54 (Norfolk, VA USA) Was This Review Helpful? Elvira, who? One of my favorite horror films. Sexy, thought-provoking, and fun. Vampira steals the show; the original ghoul girl does it again, and she has no competition. Submitted by a reviewer (Saint Louis, MO) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

It's so bad you'll love it!... After seeing Tim Burton's Ed Wood I realized I needed to watch this movie, let me tell you the DVD quality is excellent and the bonus material is really interesting, a must for everyone interested in "the worst director of history". Plan 9 From Outer Space film
$10.09 Don Siegel's cult masterpiece, interpreted as an allegory of both McCarthyism and Communism, is undoubtedly one of the screen's most disturbing evocations of paranoia. It stars Kevin McCarthy as Dr. Miles Binnell, a physician whose traumatized arrival in the emergency room of a San Francisco hospital leads the staff to believe he's lost his mind. In a series of flashbacks, he unwinds a bizarre account of his last few days. After his return from a trip to rural Santa Mira, his nurse, Sally (Jean Willes), explains that his office has been flooded with patients who have made appointments yet never appeared. Former girlfriend Becky Driscoll (Dana Wynter) tells him that she's unable to rid herself of the belief that the man claiming to be her uncle is an impostor. A hysterical young boy refuses to return home, claiming that his mother is not his mother. Miles's concern over this pattern of incidents, temporarily allayed by some jargon from the town psychiatrist, is newly aroused when he gets a phone call from friend Jack Belicec (King Donovan), who begs him to come over and take a look at the strange mannequinlike figure that's suddenly appeared on his pool table. This exceptionally well written and directed fable, the ultimate comment on the subtly coercive conformity of the 1950s, may be Siegel's best ...

His admiration of the Yorkins becomes an obsession, as he fashions himself as Uncle Sy to little Jake (Dylan Smith). As his final day approaches, Sy develops photographs revealing an indiscretion on the part of Mr. Yorkin (Michael Vartan). $14.49 With its focus on character flaws instead of plot devices, LITTLE CAESAR is the mother of the modern gangster flick. Edward G. Robinson stars as Enrico Bandelli in the role that made him a household name. Bandelli moves to the big city with partner in crime Joe Massara (Douglas Fairbanks Jr.) and becomes a member of Sam Vettori's Mafia gang. In spite of the urgings of pretty girl Olga Strassoff (Glenda Farell) to quit the mob, Rico quickly becomes the head of the Vettori gang and with a couple of quick kills scares mob boss Arnie Lorch back to Detroit. Bandelli, dubbed Little Caesar by the press, is known as a boss in his own right, but what goes up must come down in this tale ...
