The follow-up to Shadow Gallery is a progressive rock masterpiece. The biggest change from the debut is band maturity and album production. While Shadow Gallery showed the band's tremendous potential, Carved in Stone finds the band fulfilling that potential. The songwriting, already good, is much better and more consistent. This album is about as well produced as any. "Cliffhanger" opens the album on a medium tempo with a great guitar solo at the end. "Crystalline Dream" and "Don't Ever Cry, Just Remember" follow that up with what can only be described as beautiful progressive rock. The more standard rockers "Warcry" and "Deeper Than Life" follow. "Alaska" is an excellent ballad. The album concludes with the 22-minute "Ghostship," which gives Shadow Gallery a chance to shine as musicians. While there are vocals on this song, there are several guitar and keyboard solos in which each individual member shows his virtuosity. This is a most highly recommended album for rock and, especially, progressive rock fans. ~ David White

Shadow Gallery Carved In Stone Songs Carved In Stone Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) The 1st good SG album I have been a Shadow Gallery fan since I first encountered Tyranny. For those of you that are not familiar with that album, just think of it as one of the few successfully accomplished concept albums since Mindcrime. I was a bit skeptical cuz I have collected Shadow Gallery in a backward order. Now I have all 4 albums, but I purchase them in order of 3, 4, 1, and now this one, their 2nd.
I was a bit apprehensive due to the fact that the first Shadow Gallery is no really the Shadow Gallery that I was accustomed to listening to with Tyranny and Legacy. It was very frilly, frantic, and cold and just didn't do much for me.
On this, their 2nd album, that's when the band really begins to shine. If you're familiar with any of their other work and wondering about this one (like I was), you will not be disappointed. Submitted by a reviewer (Corpus Christi, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Powerful and Magnetic Another Excellent Album by Shadow Gallery. There was something special about the first Shadow Gallery Album and they've only gotten better here! With passion and energy, this album soars to the top in my book. Shadow Gallery has a unique sound of it's own and is equal with bands like Dream Theater. Carved In Stone songs
$6.75 Judas Priest's 1990 release, PAINKILLER, shows the band returning to ferocious metal after such musical detours as 1986's TURBO. It also proved to be the British band's last outing with original singer Rob Halford. Drummer Scott Travis (ex-Racer X) makes his Priest debut here, while the sound and songwriting is comparable to thrash/speed metal.
The album-opening title track is one of Priest's heaviest and greatest songs (brace yourself before it kicks in!), and the band takes no prisoners on such titles as "Hell Patrol" and "A Touch of Evil." An inspired way to close out Halford-era Priest.
At the dawn of the '90s, Judas Priest were in sad shape: out of touch, seemingly creatively bankrupt, coming off the two worst albums of their career, and left for dead by many observers. Trying to right the ship, Priest jettisoned longtime producer Tom Allom and his tinny '80s sound, as well as the serviceable groove drumming of Dave Holland, and brought in veteran metal producer Chris Tsangarides and onetime Racer X skinsman Scott Travis. Most importantly, though, Priest stopped trying to be a stadium act in the midst of hair metal's heyday. All those changes come into sharp focus as soon as the title cut of Painkiller starts ...

Carved In Stone album
$13.25 The Bardo Pond brothers, John and Michael Gibbons, team with bandmembers Clint Takeda and Jason Kourkonis for this two-track, 69-minute loopy, expansive, free-form foray into acid-drenched psychedelia called Baikal. The sticker on the package refers to Last Exit, but this is about as far as it gets from that dense space, no matter how outside it gets. One can think more in terms of the improvisational aspects of the Bevis Frond or a more guitar-centric Grails for this puppy. The Gibson brothers ...

$7.99 Mannyman ---------The Electronic Music Artist> Our artist was born in January 15th,1961 in Havana, Cuba. He began his interest in music in his mid-teens. His first performance was before a live audience back in 1978 while still in High School in Chicago, IL. It was the High School's First Annual Talent Show where he performed live on stage the song "Teddy Bear" by Elvis Presley. After receiving a standing ovation for his performance, "The bug", as they call it in music business began in his life. In 1979 he moved to Miami, Florida where he pursued the entertainment industry but ran into a few hard walls and was forced to put his music talents aside. In 1981 he decided to try his luck at an acting career so he enrolled in Miami-Dade Community College and began to study acting with the "New World Center Stage Players". He performed in such plays as "The Young Veterans", "Portrait of a Madonna" and the musical "See Saw". He also had some small parts in such movies as "Absence of Malice" and "Blood Money". He later worked with Philip Burton a teacher, writer and actor on the production "An Interpretation of MacBeth", performing the sound effects, which was a complete success. In 1982 he moved to Houston, Texas where he wrote most of his musical lyrics, poetry and short stories. In 1992 Mannyman recorded his first single "Forever". It was released on Hollywood Artist Record Label and was performed by Stephanie Allen. The single did quite well and the royalty checks began to roll in. Then sales began to slow down and he found himself in debt. He returned to work on regular low paying jobs, mostly warehouse work and delivering of goods. His music career was once again taking the backseat. In the Winter of 1994 he enrolled in the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale ...
