The terrific supporting cast features Edie Falco as Tony's conflicted wife, Carmela; Lorraine Bracco as Tony's put-upon psychiatrist, Dr. Melfi; Michael Imperioli as loose cannon Christopher Moltisanti; Steven Van Zandt as Silvio, owner of the Bada-Bing; and the incomparable Nancy Marchand, in one of the great television performances, as Livia Soprano, Tony's conniving, controlling mother. The writing, directing, and acting are impeccable, making for one of the most enjoyable viewing events of the 1990s. My husband loves the Sopranos on HBO. We were not able to tune in the first three years as we did not subscribe to HBO, so we missed seeing the show from the beginning of the series. We bought the first year DVD and thoroughly enjoy viewing the show from the beginning. The version with the director's commentary is great too, explaining the different shots and how the show got it's unique "look". Now it is also one of my favorites!

Four Years Behind and Surprised
Too raw for minor moral children's household. David Chase is a talent. The many authors keep each episode fresh and surprising - at the same time the srinks keeps it all together. Real life characters, love Tony's mother's part. All parts played well and believble. As senior Philadelphia, Pa (Philly)born and raised, and having summered on the S Jersey shore we feel at home. Have dined where one of the mob was shot dead in a Philly - NYC territory dispute lovingly refered to as the Last Supper Restoranti- good food. A good buy! - The DVD also

GREAT SERIES. I ORDERED ALL THREE. I COULDNT GET THEM THIS CHEAP FROM THE SOPRANOS THEMSELVES.... GOOD QUALITY AND EVERYTHING I EXPECTED. BY THE WAY, GOOD SERVICE IN DELIVERY SPEED TOO...

The first season Sopranos is a must for all Soprano's fans. The HBO series is a wonderful way to spend a weekend. Watching them again, you notice something you hadn't seen the first time, and it helps to tie the events together.
