| Call it what it is Folks, there are only two reasons to see this movie, and they are both found just a bit north of the lead actress' belly button, if you know what I mean. There are better Vampire movies. There are better horror movies. There are better sci-fi movies. But there is no arguing with the fact that this is a vampire horror sci-fi movie featuring a naked chick who happens to be ridiculously hot. I had to enter a number of stars for the movie. That's tough. Like boobs? Five stars, definitely. If Shakespeare were still around, he'd write a sonnet or something about the eternal glory of this woman's rack. Play this movie in a room of guys and listen to the awestruck silence every time she appears on screen. You'll see what I mean. On the other hand, if you like things like plot, dialogue, and all that stuff, and excellent boobs mean nothing to you, then one star. It's that simple. I averaged it out and gave it three. | Sexy Vampire coming for you! How can you go wrong with a naked vampire chick running around killing and stealing souls? You can't. This movie is awesome. I don't care what anyone says. This good stuff. I love the scene in the base where she steals one of the guard's souls. Naked women in horror films = great! 666! By rob (Indiana) |
| still an exceptional horror film. after all these years this is still a great effort from tobe (poltergeist) hooper. the movie is dated now in regards to effects etc. although the general movie as a whole is well crafted still delivering mystery intrigue suspense and of course horror. the soundtrack although a bit bright is a good effort with generous sub frequencies consistently pounding throughout. an anamorphic transfer would make this dvd even better but the letterbox image is still pleasing. :) By firesnake (australia) |
| Cultishly classic This went straight to video due to lack of distibutor interest so most people have never heard of it. John Dykstra's effects were sometimes fantastic sometimes cheesy, a very good perfomance by the (at the time unknown) Patrick Stewart and others all tied in to a strong story line make this a great example of cult grade movie making. | Good Movie, lacks a strong plot. The movie attempts to substitute sex and sexuality for the plot. Overall, an interesting twist on the old vampire legends. By John (Raleigh, USA) |
