This 122 minute feature film DVD stars Timothy Hutton, Amy Madigan, Michael Rooker, Julie Harris, Robert Joy, and Ken t Broadhurst. In director George A. Romero's THE DARK HALF, based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, author Thad Beaumont sees his very normal family life turn upside down when his nom de plume takes on an identity of its own and commits a series of violent murders. Thad Beaumont (Timothy Hutton) is a happily married family man with a successfully two-faced career as a writer. On the one hand, he publishes respected but poorly-selling scholarly works under his own name. It is under the name George Stark, however, that he sells millions of books with his signature strain of extremely violent action novels. When Thad makes the decision to write only under his own name, he stages a PR-friendly burial for his pen name which receives prominent media coverage. After this event, it's not long before townspeople somehow connected to Thad start turning up dead, with all clues pointing to the unassuming author. Is there a second party trying to frame Thad? Could the murders be somehow connected to the fragments of a undeveloped twin removed from Thad's brain when he was a boy? When the sheriff (Michael Rooker) finds Thad's fingerprints at the crime scenes, the unsuspecting author's life spins increasingly out of control. Director George Romero adapts frequent collaborator Stephen King's 1989 best-seller into a tight mainstream thriller with a fine dual performance from Hutton. Shot on location in Pennsylvania.
THE DARK HALF was completed in 1991, but the collapse of distributor Orion Pictures caused the film to languish on the shelf for two years.

| | Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis CD (1995) Remastered
Dark Half movie DVD
$7.59 Let us all be thankful that Ozzy's retirement didn't stick. It supposedly lasted for three days, after which he got bored and started working on this project. Heavy, riff-intensive tunes, progressive song structures and a little psychedelia give OZZMOSIS a definite Sabbath flavor. Ozzy must have been in touch with whatever inspired early classics like PARANOID and MASTERS OF REALITY. Witness the extremely chunky "Thunder Underground," which can stand up next to "Sweet Leaf" and "Symptom Of The Universe" as an archetype of hard rock. The trippy guitar in "Ghost Behind My Eyes" and "Denial" are not some young Ozzy-wannabe going for a retro sound--this man was there, "Planet Caravan"ing.
Still, this heavy metal daddy in touch with his roots is also hip to the genre's latest sound. OZZMOSIS has a live, up-front feeling, thanks to producer Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden). Zakk Wylde's huge, raw guitar also plays a major role. He provides scorching solos, lush textures and juicy fills with a muscular tone and minimal effects--the perfect complements to Osbourne's songwriting.
But more important than the raging guitars and the big sound is attitude. Ozzy's spunk has indeed rejected retirement. His songs still spew biting commentary at whoever will listen. "Your bulls**t culture licking can't stop the deathwatch ticking/You're only mortal after all," he warns on "Thunder Underground." Ozzy himself may not be immortal, but OZZMOSIS sounds like ...
| | Ozzy Osbourne The Ozzman Cometh CD (2002)
Dark Half video
$9.69 THE OZZMAN COMETH is a single CD collection of hits, previously unavailable recordings and one new track. Previously included a limited edition second disc containing 2 of the 4 previously unavailable recordings as well as an interview with Ozzy Osbourne.
As if we needed another reason to believe that Ozzy Osbourne is God, along comes THE OZZMAN COMETH, a double CD retrospective of one of the most enduring and influential figures in heavy metal. Consisting mostly of his post-Black Sabbath solo work as well as a live version of "Paranoid," this collection's biggest asset is the so-called "basement tapes," never-before-heard rehearsal tapes of four classic Sabbath songs. Dating back to 1970, "Black Sabbath" and "War Pigs" are the songs that transformed a petty thief from Birmingham, England into the godfather of heavy metal.
But if Sabbath cemented his place in the rock 'n' roll canon, his solo work raised him to legendary status. Working with former Quiet Riot guitarist Randy Rhoads, Osbourne set the tone for the 80's metal revival with songs like "Crazy Train" and "Mr. Crowley." Capping off the collection is a seventeen minute interview with Ozzy from 1988, where he speaks frankly about the ups and downs in his career (parents be forewarned: this is not for the faint of heart). Ozzy has made it through all the pitfalls of a life in rock and roll and has come out on the other side redeemed and renewed.
Recorded between 1970 & 1995.
