Nutcracker movie was released Dec 12, 2000 by the Universal Music & Video Distribution studio. Tchaikovsky's famed ballet is danced to perfection by the Kirov Ballet at St. Petersburg's renown Mariinsky Theatre. Filmed in 1994, this performance of Tchaikovsky's Christmas classic features beautiful dancing from Larissa Lezhnina (as The Princess) and Victor Baranov (as The Prince). Opera conducted by Victor Fedotov and featuring the Kirov Ballet and Orchestra. Stars Larissa Lezhnina, Victor Baranov and Piotr Russanov.
