$10.49 On 2005's CHRISTMAS SONGS, Diana Krall applies her sultry vocals and nuanced piano lines to a strong set of holiday classics. In addition to turning in a stirring performance of "The Christmas Song" that would make Nat "King" Cole proud, Krall eases into a swaying version of ...
| | Miles Davis Kind Of Blue CD (1959) Bonus Track; Remastered
One Day In October CD music
$6.29 With BIRTH OF THE COOL, Miles Davis distilled a new tonal palette for jazz. As early as 1954, Miles reacted to the escalating chordal complexity of hard bop by fashioning an evocative blues based on a simple scalar pattern ("Swing Spring"). KIND OF BLUE was the ultimate fulfillment of this approach, with Miles providing his collaborators little more than outlines for melodies and simple scales for improvisation. By emphasizing ...

| | Incredible Jazz Guitar Of Wes Montgomery CD (1960) SACD Hybrid
One Day In October CD music
$15.19 This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
John "Wes" Montgomery taught himself to play at the age of nineteen and created a style as influential to jazz guitar as was Charlie Christian's to an earlier generation. Recorded in the early part of his solo career, THE INCREDIBLE JAZZ GUITAR OF WES MONTGOMERY defined standards for hard bop guitar which are as cogent today as they were in 1960.
The album jumps out with the quartet hustling through Sonny Rollins' "Airegin," where Wes performs his often imitated licks with grace and agility. His extended phrases, thematic development, harmonic and melodic embellishment come together in a formidable technique with a heavy swing. An impressive use of octaves and chords coupled with the rejection of a guitar pick in favor of his own thumb allowed Wes' guitar to sing with warmth and with beauty. The lyrical rendition of "Polka Dots And Moonbeams" and his own "D-Natural Blues" are prime examples of the fullness of his lines. To this day, whenever ...

One Day In October songs
$11.39 As a member of Tar Beach, I am lucky enough to have a unique perspective on the philosophies and processes that go on in this band. From songwriting, to performing, to touring, we all share a passion for what we do. I’ll start by providing a brief history; the band formed at Lafayette College five years ago when six fraternity brothers discovered a shared love of music and a desire to write and perform their own compositions. Since then their have been some shakeups and a few tragedies that have shaped the band, until we all came together in our present incarnation a year ago. In those five years we have toured relentlessly, bringing our music to audiences all over the north-east and mid-west. The thought process behind this being that building a grass-roots following and winning over fans one at a time will provide us with a much stronger fan-base and a greater appreciation for what we have accomplished. Our songwriting tends to be a group effort with everyone contributing to the arranging and composing of each song. With everyone’s personalities and interests being so varied, all the music of the last 200 years is embraced and experimented with. Rock, pop, folk, funk, soul, bluegrass, R&B, blues, jazz, country, hip-hop, and just about anything else we’ve heard is open to us and we try to do a little bit of everything. My favorite part of what we do is playing for people. It’s an opportunity to share what we love, and have worked so hard for with others, and hopefully getting their respect and appreciation. It’s an opportunity to stretch our songs into new territories, and push each other as musicians and performers. Our shows tend to be sweaty fun-fests, ...
