[imagine the voice of Morgan Freeman reading this because it will sound much cooler] andy helle and friends is a “band” from Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Their worship style sounds like Dave Matthews meets Dave Crowder, sauteed in Dave and Busters. All of the “band” members worship at Bethel Assembly of God. Why does andy keep putting the word “band” in quotation marks? For the same reason that andy didn’t call the band “the andy helle band”. They are a group of musicians that worship together often but they don’t always play together simultaneously. For example three different drummers played on the album, as they have several different drummers in their worship rotation at church. Andy enjoys playing with all these “musicians”, and they are all his friends hence the name andy helle and friends. So you saw that andy also stuck the word “musicians” in quotation marks. (this is bordering quotational abuse). This is because they are not musicians by trade. For example andy is a high school biology/physiology teacher, Richard is a computer programmer and network admin.
