Roy Eldridge (trumpet) got the featured billing (along with vocalist Anita O'Day) he deserved on Drummer Man, a date featuring Gene Krupa fronting a big band. This was a reunion of sorts, but one that worked well, better in some cases than the original. The title's a bit misleading, for although Krupa's propulsions were clearly heard, his soloing was limited to a few features. Still, any drummer or fan of drumming will respond to the ambiance of this date. ~ Bob Rusch, Cadence Gene Krupa Drummer Man Songs Drummer Man Review

Drummer Man
$14.29 As satanic as anything need be, Cradle of Filth are a black metal ensemble from Suffolk, England, who've managed to keep it extreme, while being wildly popular internationally. They may be the most popular black metal band in the world because they've managed to break away from the genre's relatively small cult following and successfully infect all sorts of disaffected teenagers, especially in Europe. They never veer drastically from the usual black metal staples: movie monster-type vocals, lots of high-pitched screams, indecipherable lyrics, and relentless, punishing riffs. But Midian has its fair share of melody too. (Most of the finest metal does have some element of melody.) The album begins with a chorus of what sounds like some evil monks chanting and is at its very best when the ominous, classical-style keyboards kick in. ~ Adam Bregman

| | WWE Originals CD (2004) Bonus DVD; Limited Edition
Drummer Man
$7.59 To some, an album of pop songs sung by professional wrestlers may seem like an even worse idea than Magic Johnson hosting a late-night talk show. Any real Wrestlemania fan, however, knows that these properly pumped bruisers and their coiffed and curvy counterparts are as much entertainers as they are athletes.
On WWE ORIGINALS, each wrestler performs ...

| | Pink I'm Not Dead CD (2006) DualDisc
Drummer Man
$17.49 This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other.
Pink deserves a lot of credit for overturning everyone's expectations. After emerging in 2000 with a debut full of club-ready, R&B-influenced dance-pop, she moved on to genre-hopping hybrids (MISSUNDAZTOOD) and punk-inflected rock (TRY THIS). 2006's I'M NOT DEAD resumes Pink's game of stylistic hopscotch, as she skitters skillfully from arena rock to hip-hop-influenced jams to thoughtful folk to well-crafted pop.
Remarkably, these genre experiments work well together, and stand as a testament to Pink's unwillingness to fit into any music industry mold. Whether collaborating with the Indigo Girls on the acoustic protest song "Dear Mr. President," showing off her irresistible swagger on ...

| | Rage Against The Machine The Battle of Los Angeles CD (1999)
Drummer Man
$9.69 "Guerrilla Radio" won the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. THE BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.
Rage Against the Machine doesn't release rushed albums for the sake of exposure. Each of the band's deftly crafted full-length albums has defined a progression in the group's sound and musical vision.
Here, Rage has taken the dynamics of its unique style to a deeper level, as evidenced on "Mic Check," which features gentle, unsettling guitar work by Tom Morello, who is deservedly hailed as an innovator of the instrument. The mid-tempo funk of "Maria" finds vocalist Zach De La Rocha telling the poetic story ...
