Assuming that what most casual listeners want out of collections like the Motown Legends series is an act's biggest hits, this is one disc that doesn't deliver -- outside of the blockbusters "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)" and "Beauty Is Only Skin Deep," the majority of these 11 tracks are instead the Temptations' minor hits. While there's some undeniably brilliant material included (notably the excellent "It's Growing"), the disc's very existence is questionable -- hardcore Tempts fans will already have these performances, while less devoted listeners won't want them anyway; and as it's just one of several Motown Legends collections from the group, it's tough not to feel cheated by yet another misguided Motown marketing ploy. ~ Jason Ankeny

This album is one of the very best of the great Temptations albums. It has all the classics, With Eddie, Dennis, Paul, Melvin, and Otis how could you go lose??

There a very few groups that are the total package, well the Temptations are all that with one hit after the next. If you don't have this in your collection...sad, sad, sad. Buy it now...It's truly Motown at its Best.

The inevitable reunion of one of the 1980s' biggest pop groups was a long time in the making. The seeds were sown in 1991, when solo stars Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill and Ralph Tresvant joined their three former bandmates, who had found stardom as Bell Biv DeVoe, on a version of the BBD single "Word To The Mutha" (on WBBD - BOOT CITY! THE REMIX ALBUM). The results were overwhelming, and demand for a full-fledged reunion began. Now, eight years after the last New Edition album, the band is back HOME AGAIN.
Much has changed in pop music since the group's 1983 debut, but somehow New Edition seems to stay current, and get better, with each album.
