(7 Customer Reviews)
This is where Hank Williams Jr. solidified the hard-hitting style he would become known for, perhaps inspired by the pioneering outlaw country records Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings had begun making a couple of years earlier. Charlie Daniels and the Marshall Tucker Band's Toy Caldwell help out here, and you can hear Williams's trademark mix of country and Southern rock taking shape on his cover of the Tucker Band's classic "Can't You See." And while he was no longer singing in his father's shadow, he continues to reference the late country icon on songs like "Living Proof," though the mode of expression is now undeniably the younger Williams's own. HANK WILLIAMS JR. & FRIENDS created the template that would be followed on a subsequent string of Williams's most enduring albums.

Hank Williams, Jr. & Friends Songs Hank Williams, Jr. & Friends Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews "DITTO" Hank's Best and Most Underrated Album
This quite honestly Hank Jr's best album and here's why. This is the album where he stepped out of his daddy's shadow and started making the music HE wanted to make. His stuff before this was really good, but he really wanted to do something different and he did on this album. He mixed traditional country sounds with southern rock and the result is amazing. It has only 9 songs, but all 9 all gold especially the last 2, "Stoned At the Jukebox" and "Living Proof" This album is very underated, not many people know about it but don't let that fool you because it's his best. Sometimes you have to look a little to find good music.

5 stars and I hate Country This is the ONLY country music I own. This one CD! That should say it all due to the fact I am a big Pink Floyd, Tull, and Trapeze fan. Hank before he became Bocephus. Plus a great group of musicians, including Toy Caldwell and Chuck Leavell. Submitted by acosinsp1 (Lockport, LA USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Hank Williams, Jr. & Friends album
$5.85 A.K.A. WHAM BAM SAM is one of Hank Williams Jr.'s best albums, with a nice balance between his traditional rowdy good old boy hellraiser schtick, and some genuinely sensitive, at times even shockingly musical moments. Speaking of the former, the funniest thing here, hands down, is the opening "Don Juan D'Bubba." A take-off on the then-current Johnny Depp movie "Don Juan DeMarco," it's the saga of a redneck Lothario who "only serves the cheapest supermarket wine."
Other highlights include the genuinely touching cry-in-your-beer epic "Let's Keep the Heart in Country." The title song, a neo-Dixieland change of pace, is an ode to "the drummer king of New Orleans."

Hank Williams, Jr. & Friends CD music
$7.25 MAJOR MOVES is one of Hank Williams, Jr.'s rowdiest, and most proudly politically incorrect albums. The centerpiece is "The Blues Medley," a montage of three Lightning Hopkins classics featuring guest performances by Ray Charles on piano, John Lee Hooker on vocals, and the Allman Brothers' Dickie Betts on slide guitar.
Other highlights include "Attitude Adjustment," in which Hank regales listeners with stories about taking out a hated brother-in-law ...

| | Lewis Taylor Lewis II CD (2000)
Hank Williams, Jr. & Friends CD music
$8.79 LEWIS II, the 2000 album from British artist Lewis Taylor, features 11 tracks including "Party" and "Into You."
On his sophomore effort, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Lewis Taylor drives home the more muscular, up-tempo side of his prodigious gift. There are a couple of drummers on this set playing on selected tracks, and this outing also features a cover of Jeff Buckley's "Everybody Here Wants You." To start with this remake is significant. Taylor is deeply influenced by Marvin Gaye, and Buckley's tune was an obvious homage to Gaye. Taylor's reading of Buckley's reading of Gaye takes some interesting liberties with the tune. The guitars are more overtly psychedelic, without ever leaving the soul groove. The piano is icy, while Taylor's voice provides the fire: it's a stark contrast to Buckley's own performance, which consciously tried to keep ...
