| | Robert Palmer Maybe It's Live CD Robert Palmer Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
The "maybe" in the title refers to the fact that though this set is mostly taken from live concerts, some of the tracks are studio recordings. The live tracks here serve as a sort of de facto greatest hits collection for the first phase of Robert Palmer's career. The set begins with a rousing take on Allen Toussaint's "Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley," which stomps where the original had sashayed. Palmer essays two hot tracks from his early solo albums--the reggae/doo wop flavored "Best of Both Worlds," and the soulful Caribbean concotion "Every Kind of People," and turns in a solid, crowd-pleasing version of his biggest hit thus far, "Bad Case of Loving You."
The highlight of the studio recordings is the ultra-catchy "Some Guys Have All the Luck," with which Rod Stewart would have a huge chart hit a few years later. The studio tracks show Palmer beginning to cross over to a sleek, modern production style that would be his chosen medium in his subsequent '80s records. Other studio tracks range from "Style Kills" (an ironic title for Palmer), co-written with Gary Numan, to "Maybe It's You" a hyper chunk of straight-ahead new wave rock.
Orinaly released in 1982 , his seventh album combines six live tracks of old songs with four new songs recorded in the studio, including Some Guys Have All the Luck, at #16 UK Hit.

Maybe It's Live album
$23.69 As stated in many interviews and press releases, Mistaken Identity, the second release by Australian beauty Delta Goodrem, was fueled and inspired by a central event that occurred in the young star: her tumultuous battle with lymphoma and the struggles of remission. Therefore, it is without surprise that the second release by Goodrem is a much darker, introverted look at the pain and emotional issues handled in her life. Mistaken Identity, contrary to Goodrem's first release, Innocent Eyes, is a ballad-packed album with dramatic beats, moodier lyrics, and deeper meanings beneath the singer's icy pure vocals. The result is chilling, turning the Mandy Moore-esque tones on Goodrem's first release into haunting Celine Dion ...

$16.45 Minister Nathaniel M. CarswellBORN...Fort Pierce FloridaAugust 18, 1952As a child,Minister Carswell learned to use his God given gift of singing by imitating the songs he heard. God taught him how to control his voice even before he could understand the meaning of "the goodness of God".His first encounter with public singing was when he entered a talent show in the 12th grade. Minister Carswell joined the Airforce in 1971. Later, in the early part of his military career the group he sang with in the talent show wanted him to come home and sing with them. But he refused to leave the military. Minister Carswell noted when thinking back over the years "how amazing God really is, how he blocked the gift he has given Minister Carswell from being drawn into the world."Born again at the age of nine at a Holiness Church on 13 street in Fort Pierce, Minister Carswell went to church with his mom at St. John, that is where he knew what the call of God was for his life. He loved watching Preachers, so He prayed and asked if he could be one. His favorite Minister (other than his local minister) is Oral Roberts. He really loved watching the healing power of God working through him. "God is awesome", says Minister Carswell when speaking of the work God does through His willing vessels like Minister Oral Roberts. When Minister Nathaniel M. Carswell was stationed at Robins AFB in Georgia, he began to realize his God-given gift for singing. While on tour with "Robins Gospel Experience Choir" he met two Angels that blessed him by encouraging him to keep singing at a time when his God-given talent wasn't being fully utilized while in the choir. According to the call God placed upon his life his full potential had not yet been realized by him or those in the singing group. Later, while on TDY to Bitburg, Germany, he won ...
