This is part of MCA's 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection series.
Rare Earth's edition of the 20th Century Masters series is a near-definitive collection of their singles for Motown. Over the course of seven tracks, all the group's biggest hits -- "Get Ready," "(I Know) I'm Losing You," "Born to Wander," "I Just Want to Celebrate," "Hey Big Brother," ...

| | Lionel Richie Back To Front CD (1992) Bonus Tracks
Concert music CDs
$10.59 Lionel Richie brings the funk ("All Night Long"), silky ballads ("My Destiny"), and a winning duet with Diana Ross ("Endless Love") to this smash hit 1992 Motown release, reissued by Universal Records Argentina in 2004.
On his own and as part of the Commodores, by 1992 Lionel Richie amassed more than enough singles for a greatest-hits collection. Unfortunately, this is one of those compilations that, good intentions aside, falls so flat there's not much point in buying it. By trying to cover his solo material, while touching base with his Commodores fans, and adding some new cuts, no part of his career is well represented. For the record, Back to Front lacks "Oh No," "Lady You Bring Me Up," "Ballerina Girl," "You Are," "My Love," "Stuck on You," "Love Will Conquer All," "Se La," and "Dancing on the Ceiling," all Top 40 hits. If Motown had concentrated solely on solo Richie, with another collection of Commodores hits, this could have been a solid, career-topping CD. As it is, it's strong, but hearing such gems as "Still," "Truly," "Say You, Say Me," and "Running With the Night" makes you long to hear the cuts that aren't here. Of the three new songs, "Do It to Me" and "My Destiny" are classic, smooth ...
| | Dru Hill Dru World Order CD (2002)
Concert songs
$12.65 DRU WORLD ORDER is another immaculate collection of smoothly-executed R&B of the type that topped the Billboard charts on Dru Hill's first couple of releases. This third album continues where the band left off--silky smooth vocals and arrangements that ooze out of the speakers like butter, massed harmonies that take no prisoners, and after-hours love ballads such as the provocative ...

| | Anekdoten Vemod CD (1993)
Concert music CDs
$18.99 Inspired by prog-rock giants King Crimson, Swedish prog-rockers Anekdoten released their soaring guitar and mellotron-heavy debut, VERNOD, in 1993.
Anekdoten's debut shows them a little rougher, more Gothic in tone, and less tonally subtle than in later years, but compelling nonetheless. From the crashing bass and Mellotron in the opening track "Karelia," it's clear that King Crimson reigns over their work -- not to mention that it features riffs nicked from Crimson's "Easy Money." "Wheel" also has the dissonance and horns of the Lizard album. But they are creating something unique here, as the gentle instrumental "Longing" attests. While Anekdoten hadn't quite reached its potential yet -- "Where Solitude Remains" still shows Liljestrom's vocals to be a little too precise, and not as pleasingly smoky as ...
