Bats Movie Review i love bats! bats is the best movie i've ever seen. i mean the effects are good. my favorite character(s) are the bats! Submitted by ???? (???????) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Bats are cool-- this movie isn't First, this movie depicts bats-- benign, beneficial, and fascinating creatures-- as "killing machines," which can only hurt their chances of being understood and thus protected by the general public.
Additionally, the plot is predictable, the "horror" is just plain humorous (unintentionally), and the directing and acting are quite horrible. The dialogue in the movie is embarassingly bad at times.
Guano is depicted as liquid, which it isn't. And what the scientist calls a "tight" spot in a cave during the opening scene is not even close to tight-- she's still on her feet!
The one point of praise: it is mentioned that bats are generally harmless, consume insects, etc. when they're NOT genetically altered to be evil. Submitted by a reviewer (Georgia, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

$8.55 In Tim Burton's stylish, creepy retelling of the classic Washington Irving story, SLEEPY HOLLOW, Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) is a squeamish, bookish 18th century New York City investigator sent to a small town in lower Westchester county to look into three mysterious decapitations. When the always rational Crane arrives at the little Dutch village, he finds that most of the townsfolk believe the culprit to be the Headless Horseman, the ghost of a monstrous Hessian soldier (Christopher Walken), who seems to be mysteriously tied in to one of the town's most prominent families. Burton's natural instincts for campy humor, combined with the hauntingly gorgeous technical work (Emmanuel Lubezki's cinematography and Danny Elfman's score included), collide to create a work of exhilarating entertainment and poetic storytelling. Miranda Richardson, Casper Van Dien and Christina Ricci help make up an ensemble cast that, combined with the historically accurate village sets and ...

Bats review
$10.29 In M. Night Shyamalan's THE SIXTH SENSE, Bruce Willis plays Dr. Malcolm Crowe, a successful Philadelphia child psychologist who is haunted by the sudden reappearance and suicide of a former patient. Months later Dr. Crowe encounters Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment), a troubled, withdrawn young boy who bears a striking similarity to his earlier patient. Dr. Crowe is compelled to help Cole, not only for the boy's sake, but for his own redemption. As Dr. Crowe struggles to determine what torments Cole, he must also come to terms with his increasingly distant relationship to his wife (Olivia Williams). Meanwhile, Cole is unable to describe the horrible things he sees even to his worried mother (Toni Collette). The scene where Cole finally tells Dr. Crowe about his supernatural secret is one of the 1990s most quoted and well-known cinematic moments.
A gripping ghost story with a stunning finale, THE SIXTH SENSE became a surprise blockbuster shortly after its release. The film features Oscar-nominated performances by the startlingly intense Osment and the fiercely maternal Collette, as well as a subtle, subdued turn by Willis. Shyamalan directs his intriguing script with almost clinical precision, using carefully framed visuals to create the film's distinctly chilling ...

Bats DVD
$7.95 David O. Russell makes his entry into the major studio big leagues with the electric war dramedy THREE KINGS. The politically charged script, based on a fictional story by John Ridley, is a sly reworking of KELLY'S HEROES, and concerns four Gulf War soldiers who discover a map that may lead to an enormous stash of gold bullion. Russell gives actors George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Ice Cube, and Spike Jonze a chance to shine, in roles that step outside the usual cinematic clichés and enable them to create human, believable ...

$21.49 With a bit of homage to the GODFATHER and THE UNTOUCHABLES, this animé program (based on a manga of the same title) shows the double life of 23-year-old Kumiko, an heir to the Oedo Yakuza family. With her identity completely concealed, Kumiko takes a job as a math teacher for grades 2-4, where the worst of the class bullies and rebels are amazed that they are completely unable to unnerve her with their outbursts. Kumiko does have some interesting quirks, such as launching into street speak when she becomes enraged. This habit makes her seem somewhat troubled indeed. This program has been discussed as the female counterpart to GTO, a manga (and animé) about a reformed biker dude who tries to provide guidance to his ...
