DVD. Keep case. Sund & subtitles in Eng. & French. CC. 79 m in. DD mono sound. Stanley Kramer's stylized portrait of America's rebellious youth is considered the original motorcycle movie.
Like a swarm of insects, Johnny's motorcycle club roams the countryside terrorizing one small-town after another. His gang of forty vicious hoodlums resents discipline, challenges authority and mocks convention. Riding into yet another township, they vandalize stores and trample private property. Meanwhile, Johnny romances Kathie, the pretty but repressed daughter of a local police officer. But when the gang spins out of control, an innocent man is accidentally killed and Johnny becomes the scapegoat. In one of his most famous roles, Brando stars as the head of a savage motorcycle gang which terrorizes a small town. He gets his first real chance at a normal and productive life when he falls in love with a young woman who lives there, but a psychotic rival to his position as leader threatens everything. A Stanley Kramer Company production.
Additional cast members include: Robert Osterloh, Robert Bice, William Vedder, Yvonne Doughty, Keith Clarke, Darren Dublin, Johnny Tarangelo, Gene Peterson, Harry Landers, Jim Connell, Don Anderson and Angela Stevens. Wild One Reviews: "...A charged bout of denim-clad hooliganism, this grand-daddy of biker films is as legendary as its brutish leading man..."
-- Dan Rider, Total Film "Laslo Benedek's film was the occasion for a defining Brando moment....[With] a line that helped launch several generations of adolescent, anarchic revolt."
-- Entertainment Weekly Staff, Entertainment Weekly "[Brando is] relaxed yet electrifying..."
-- Premiere Staff, Premiere "[I]ts iconic status is down to Brando's camply brooding presence."
-- Chris Roberts, Uncut

The Original Biker Movie When Marlon Brando, leader of the Black Rebels Motorcycle Club,is asked, "Johnny, what are you rebelling against?" answers, " What a ya got?" This famous movie quip anchors the whole picture: not knowing where he is going, Johnny only knows that he has to get away from 'squaresville.' But then there is this girl...
The inspiration of all biker movies to follow, the Wild One was based on a Life magazine picture and article about a group of bikers that terrorized the small town of Hollister, CA in 1947. This movie establsished Brando as the premier angry young man, in the same way that Rebel Without a Cause would do for James Dean. If you own any motorcycle movies, you absolutely need this one as the biker movie of all biker movies! The crystal-clear black and white images of this digitally-restored DVD preserve the details of an era in dramatic, magnificent period-faithful wide screen format. Lee Marvin riding a thundering Harley- Davidson as Brando's rival in the movie is said by some to have originated Harley's bad boy image that continues today. A true classic, restored in startling new detail unseen in previous VHS versions, this film is a must for your library! Submitted by a reviewer (Edmonton, Alberta. Canada) Was This Review Helpful? $8.35 A landmark in film history, EASY RIDER blew the studio doors open for more young directors than any film before or since, helping to create the wide-open climate that would lead to the production of many outstanding films in the 1970s. As its director, Dennis Hopper is usually given the lion's share of credit for the film's success, but the revelations of time suggest that the contributions of the late Terry Southern and, to some degree, Jack Nicholson have endowed the film with much of its residual power.
Starring Peter Fonda as Wyatt (alias Captain America) and Hopper as Billy, it traces the hippie duo's adventures as they mount their seriously chopped hogs on a journey to find the real America en route to Mardi Gras. In Arizona, they visit a commune whose members are having a tough time, and in a small Texas town they're jailed for joining a parade. But they're quickly sprung by an ACLU lawyer, the quirky, hard-drinking George Hanson (Jack Nicholson), who accepts their offer to join them on the trip to New Orleans, ...

AMERICAN GRAFFITI presents a powerful collage of youth on the brink of maturity just before the assassination of J.F.K.. Based on George Lucas's own teenage hot-rodding days in Modesto, California, this brilliant, bittersweet comedy inspired numerous other productions, including the long-running TV series HAPPY DAYS. Lucas's second feature film (following THX 1138), AMERICAN GRAFFITI contains an early screen appearance by Harrison Ford, who would figure heavily in the director's next movie, the sci-fi epic STAR WARS. The film follows one night in the lives of several recently graduated high school students. The genial Steve (Ron Howard) prepares to leave for college the next day, and Laurie (Cindy Williams), his girlfriend, is upset by his impending departure. Laurie's brother, Curt (Richard Dreyfuss), the class intellectual, is also slated for college, but he has serious doubts about his future. Also included here are the hopeless nerd (Charles Martin Smith) and the eternally cool drag racer, John (Paul LeMat), who feels pressure to live up to his reputation. A nostalgic feeling is evoked in seeing the ...

$10.49 DUEL, one of Steven Spielberg's first vehicles, foreshadowed the blockbuster film JAWS. Using minimal dialogue and effects, Spielberg defines the characteristics of his prolific oeuvre in this early work. Through tight cinematic narration, he effectively conveys the sudden and shocking horror that develops over the course of the film.
On a deserted stretch of California highway, businessman David Mann (Dennis
Weaver) settles into his red Valiant for the long drive to an urgent meeting. Ahead of him on the road is a slow-moving diesel truck, which David innocently decides to pass. So begins the long duel between David and the Goliath-like rig in this nerve-wracking TV movie. Menacing David at every twist and turn of the highway, the truck tries to push the Valiant onto a train track, run David down in a phone booth, engage him in a high-speed chase, and tailgate him into oblivion. Hoping to lose the rig, David stops at a roadside café only to realize that the driver of the truck is also in the restaurant. The driver is never seen, except one shot of his beefy
arm waving the Valiant ahead into oncoming traffic. Instead, Spielberg uses
the monstrous truck itself, much like the way he used the shark in JAWS, to
harass and taunt. After ...
