Arnold Schwarzenegger and director John McTiernan join forces again in, THE LAST ACTION HERO, a heart racing thriller in which a young boy uses a magical ticket to infiltrate his favorite movie. Danny (Austin O'Brien) passes through the movie screen and into the whirlwind life of crusader Jack Slater (Arnold Schwarzenegger) becoming his sidekick. But when the villains learn that they too can travel back and forth between cinema and reality, it's up to Jack Slater to put a stop their havoc wreaking. Once a character in the "Jack Slater 4" film, Danny takes on the role of Slater's sidekick, and together they combat Vivaldi (Anthony Quinn), Benedict (Charles Dance), and The Ripper (Tom Noonan), an infamous troika bent on global malice. Trouble really however, when Benedict gets a hold of Danny's magic ticket, and travels to the real world laying waste to Times Square. Jack Slater leaves his cinematic bubble and follows the villain into reality--a reality where heroes don't always win. Like a prophet armed with fire, director John McTiernan uses explosive action and booming special effects to foretell of a time when hyper reality will be achieved with the ease of buying a ticket to a movie.

The film debuted a new sound system from Sony called Sony Dynamic Digital Sound (SDDS). It consisted of eight different channels of digital audio that get printed on the film. Richard Greenberg served as a visual effects consultant. The film reunites John McTiernan and Arnold Schwarzenegger who first worked together on "Predator" (1987). They agreed to collaborate again when they found the right project and both felt "The Last Action Hero" was perfect for its blend of action and humor. Shot in Los Angeles, California and in New York City. When they filmed in New York, city authorities closed Times Square to traffic to accommodate shooting. The production company also proudly erected a 100-foot balloon likeness of Schwarzenegger as his character Slater. The film had an estimated budget between $60-85 million. Rated BBFC 15 by the British Board of Film Classification.

5 stars Are you tired for action movies? this is a different way!
I think this movie is a not ortodox way to see an action movie.Arnold show how the superheroes can be vulnerables in a real life. No more superkiller, no more perfect kicks etc. etc.. This movie is the perfect way to mean how a young boy can be manipulated by movie effects and how can create a false idol behind the scenes.. I think is one of the most intelligent Arnol "Slater" Schwarzenegger movie. Personality is my favorite.

1 star Arnold's biggest mistake
Last Action Hero almost became Arnold's last stand. It's like a cheap film about a child's dream of hanging out with his favorite movie star.

Muscle-bound, heavily-accented John Kruger is employed by the Witness Protection Program as an "eraser." In other words, he wipes out a witness's identity in order to save him or her from potential harm. One such person is beautiful Lee Cullen, who possesses vital information regarding super high-tech weapons -- and a government conspiracy connected to them. Krueger's job protecting Cullen will lead to some action-packed, death-defying adventures for ...

The grisly and debauched film PATHOLOGY is a juiced-up medical thriller that plays like FLATLINERS with a mean streak and a broken moral compass. Writers Mark Nelvedine and Brian Taylor have created a premise allowing for CSI-like forensics along with heaps of sex and violence, truly making the most of the film's R-rating. A high-end exploitation film with good performances, PATHOLOGY is strong enough for horror fans and should go down smoothly for non-squeamish viewers with a taste for the dark side. Gifted med student Ted Grey (Milo Ventimiglia, HEROES) arrives at a major Washington, D.C., as an intern, where he is met with suspicion and resentment by the tightly knit group of fellow young pathologists-in-training. Soon, though, Ted is accepted into their circle---where they each take turns committing a murder so that the others may prove their mettle by figuring out the cause of death and celebrate with drug-fueled orgies among the dead bodies in the hospital. Things change for Ted, though, when his law student fiancée, Gwen (Alyssa Milano), moves to the city and helps to scare him straight. Soon, crazed Wallace Stevens-quoting leader Jake Gallo (Michael Weston) turns on Ted, putting both Ted's and Gwen's lives in serious jeopardy. The film opens with the Hippocratic Oath, and it's easy to tell that PATHOLOGY is going to show us doctors behaving badly, and the film is in fact almost gleefully immoral, with an attractive young cast that engages in almost any kind of forbidden behavior one can imagine. Showing that he isn't afraid to take on risky roles, Ventimiglia may surprise ...

Marcel Langenegger makes his feature-film directorial debut with the aptly titled DECEPTION, a film about secrets and lies. Jonathan McQuarry (Ewan McGregor) feels that life is passing him by. He completes short-term audits for a large firm, but doesn't really feel any connection to his employer and finds it difficult to make friends at his assignments since he's never there for long. Jonathan's circumstances change overnight when charming lawyer Wyatt Bose (Hugh Jackman) befriends him. In an instant, the shy accountant is playing doubles tennis with his new friend and beautiful women and visiting upscale clubs. Just as mild-mannered Jonathan is getting used to his new lifestyle, Wyatt leaves town on business. When Jonathan finds himself mistakenly in possession of Wyatt's cell phone, he also discovers a whole new world of anonymous sex in elite Manhattan hotels with powerful women known simply as "The List." But soon Jonathan is in over his head: he's the prime suspect when a woman goes missing, and the threat of extortion looms. This tale weaves an intricate web of lies and treachery. Jackman is both charming and chilling as Wyatt, a man utterly without conscience, while McGregor falls easily into character as the bespectacled Everyman, Jonathan. Nerdy ...

Director Atsushi Muroga's female-action-hero movie series GUN CRAZY updates the standard spaghetti-western formula by transposing the action to Japan and centering each of the shootout adventures on a different female gunslinger. In the second movie of the series, BEYOND THE LAW, Japanese supermodel Rei Kikukawa stars as Yuki, an idealistic lawyer who finds she can better serve justice by joining forces with an amoral hitman (Toshiya Nagasawa) and bringing down vengeance through the barrel of a gun. Yuki is an idealistic young lawyer who’s finding out that law and justice are not always hand in hand. When she confronts a client about their criminal ties and discovers that her firm has been party to the deception, Yuki finds herself looking ...
