DVD. Feature film. 45 min. CC. A young woman loses her husband when she is pregnant with her first and only daughter; 22 years later, she still has not recovered from his death, and has never remarried, even though a close family friend has secretly been in love with her for years.
Meanwhile, up in heaven, a young man has been given the soul of the woman's dead husband, and is reincarnated without receiving an injection of the "forgetting" serum that would have made him unaware of his old life.
He ends up at Yale University where he starts dating the woman's now college-aged daughter (though he doesn't realize the connection yet). When the daughter takes her new beau home for a vacation, his memories come flooding back, causing complications as everyone tries to figure out her rightful relationship with this "young" man. A young woman's picture-perfect marriage is shattered when her husband dies unexpectedly. Fortunately, he is recycled back to earth as a newborn. Twenty-three years later and flooded with former-life memories, he meets his wife, falls in love with his daughter and confronts his best friend. Academy Award Nominations: Best Song ("After All"). Cinematographer, William Fraker, also shot the film "Heaven Can Wait," which contains some similar footage of heaven.
Shot on location in Montgomery and Rockville Counties, Maryland, both suburbs of Washington DC. The scenes of the characters in the Smithsonian Collection in Washington were also done on location. Shooting took place during the summer of 1988. The film opened in the USA in the spring of 1989.
Norman T. Leavitt did the makeup for Cybill Shepherd, and Kaori Turner did her body makeup.
Shot in Metrocolor. Chances Are Reviews: "...A winsomely likable movie....The movie is well-structured..."

| | Carter Family 1927-1934 CDs (2002) (Import) United Kingdom
Chances Are DVD
$25.79 A comprehensive budget compilation by the dependable JSP label, the five-disc 1927-1934 fully covers the first seven years of the Carter Family's musical career and features recordings that are the basis of the trio's honored place in the country music firmament. The set starts, appropriately enough, with the Carters' six contributions to Ralph Peer's legendary 1927 recording sessions in Bristol, Tennessee, and then chronologically wades through every released side that A.P., Sara, and Maybelle recorded for RCA Victor. (This excludes alternate takes that are readily available on Rounder and Bear Family reissues covering the same era.)
Unlike similar collections, where much of the listening intrigue comes from charting the artists' development, the Carters' sound is presented fully formed from the opening track, "Bury Me Under the Weeping Willow," and ...

Legendary songs like "Can the Circle Be Unbroken," "Keep on the Sunny Side," "No Depression," "Single Girl, Married Girl," and "I'm Thinking Tonight of My Blue Eyes" are all represented, and the sound quality is slightly more even than on the first JSP box, The Carter Family: 1927-1934. Essentially, anyone who can ...
