KEYS TO YOUR HEART is an enhanced multi-media CD featuring over 30 minutes of video and artist profiles.
Pianist Joe McBride delivers his trademark jazz-pop on Keys to Our Heart. "Let's Spend Some Time Together" is a quiet storm-ready ballad featuring McBride's burnished vocals alongside vocalist Analisa Ripke, while "Squeeze Play" is a funky dance track. McBride's music always leans toward the pop end of the jazz-pop spectrum, and this disc is no exception. While some of the songs featuring catchy melodies, the album is overly reliant on drum machines, electronic keyboards, and lack of anything remotely harmonically challenging, making for little to recommend here. ~ Matt Collar

Keys To Your Heart album
$14.45 Chuck Loeb knows the secret to finding enduring success in the genre, even amidst growing competition by more and more up and coming guitarists who approximate his style: keep the listener guessing from tune to tune with unique stylistic and production curveballs. He's so effective at this that it's impossible to resist as he commands in the title of his new Shanachie disc: simply Listen. Keeping his crisp electric lines front and center, he darts and moves from the retro-soul clicking, synth strings, and rising horn combination of "Silver Star" to the fingersnap percussion, hypnotic cymbal rolls, Gary Keller's flute harmony, and Jim Beard's shimmering Fender Rhodes foundation on "High Five." It's a kick keeping up with his mood swings; Loeb ...
| | Jonathan Butler Do You Love Me? CD (1997)
Keys To Your Heart CD music
$8.29 On Jonathan Butler's N2K Encoded Music debut, Do You Love Me, he continues his jack-of-two-trades approach, balancing R&B-based vocal tunes with easy, acoustic guitar-based instrumentals. While it's a friendly enough listen, Butler here doesn't display a powerful enough mastery of either format. His guttural, heartfelt vocal style -- reminiscent ...

Keys To Your Heart music CDs
$9.79 All songs written by Joe McBride except "Walking In Rhythm" (Barney Perry), "Deja Vu" (A. Anderson/I. Hayes), and "You've Got A Friend" (Carole King).
Keyboardist Joe McBride seems to have had a good time during parts of his Heads Up release, especially when he is trading off with guitarist Larry Carlton, taking acoustic piano solos in a style reminsicent of Ramsey Lewis or overdubbing his voices on the infectious "Everybody Needs Love" and "You've ...
| | Joe Mcbride Double Take CD (1998)
Keys To Your Heart songs
$15.29 There's no shortage of smooth jazz royalty guesting on Joe McBride's brisk and bouncy Double Take, but for once it might be nice to hear some of those first-rate melodies and nimble improvisational jaunts over rhythm pockets created by a real drum kit. Beyond the over-reliance on electronica, however, this is the kind of disc proving that genre artists can create picture-perfect ...
