| | Blues World Of Little Walter CD Little Walter Discography of CDs
Original sessions produced by Monroe Passis, Fred Mendelsohn and Joe Brown.
If you really want to hear what Little Walter sounded like in his pre-amplified days and early stages of development with the Muddy Waters band, this is the one to get. The title is a bit of a misnomer as Walter is featured more as a sideman to Baby Face Leroy, Muddy Waters and others on early Parkway, Regal and Savoy sides, but it's clear that Walter at this stage of the game should have been paying royalties to both Sonny Boys and Walter Horton in particular. One of the high points features explosive slide work from Waters on a pre-Chess version of "Rollin' & Tumblin'," as crude as a version as you'll ever hear and certainly not to be missed. Although many of these sides have appeared on other compilations (usually taped up off of old scratchy 78s), this one features superior sound taken from the original lacquer masters. ~ Cub Koda

Blues World Of Little Walter MP3 Album
$13.15 (MP3 Available for Download) Singer and songwriter Ndidi Onukwulu (pron. In-DEE-dee On-OOK-whoo-loo) is a newcomer to blues scene in Toronto, Canada. She brings the contemporary rhythms of Africa to the blues. Ndidi, who was born in British Columbia, grew up listening to her Nigerian-born father play drums.Onukwulu’s mother recognized her daughter’s extraordinary vocal gifts early and encouraged her. “My mother thought I was pretty decent and entered me into competitions,” she says. Onukwulu was seven when she began singing in regional talent contests in small towns in southern and northern B.C.Ndidi is in the process of building a repertoire of traditional blues, combined with Malagasy and Nigerian music. “It’s a new form of African blues”, she says. She moved to Toronto, via New York, in 2000. Ndidi has been writing blues songs since she was 13. “I went through a lot of pain, and I found writing about it was a way to get it out,” she says. Some of the songs she’s working on currently are about being ...
| | Elliot Easton Change No Change CD (1985) Bonus Tracks
Blues World Of Little Walter music CDs
$10.65 (MP3 Available for Download) Elliot Easton is a truly gifted and totally underrated guitarist. His talents were not utilized to the fullest in the Cars, nor should he be sprucing up covers of John Fogerty tunes in a clone band, Creedence Clearwater Revisited. With an opportunity to help his own cause, Change No Change disappoints on many levels. Easton is a terrible vocalist and listening to "I Want You" is downright painful for fans who saw and heard notes sparkle out of his axe prior to the Cars getting signed. This was Easton's opportunity to be recognized as a Phil Manzanera, Alvin Lee, or Craig Chaquico, but instead of using the "Tools of Your Labor," to quote the first song on his disc, and making a statement, he tries to be something he is not. Where Michael Bruce of Alice Cooper ...
