This CD is one of the finest ever made, not only of Telemann's concerti, but of any instrumental music from the baroque period. Telemann was certainly one of the giants of that great era; this wonderful disc is a vivid reminder of that fact. The music itself constantly brims over with an irrepressible zest and vivacity. Each of the individual works (whose movements are sometimes much too brief in length!) have their own particular delights; there is not a dull note in the entire recording. Credit for this felicitous result must largely go to Reinhard Goebel and the Musica Antiqua Koln; their brilliant and ebullient performance makes listening to Telemann's music an exhilarating experience. I cannot praise this disc too highly. Baroque music lovers, pounce!
