Brazilian Rhapsody Product Description
Brazilian Rhapsody by Daniel Barenboim / Milton Nascimento was released Sep 05, 2000 on the Teldec label. The vast wealth that is Brazilian popular music is explored here by conductor-pianist Daniel Barenboim and a select international group of friends. Most of the tunes come from the school of samba and its jazzier hybrid successor bossa nova, but there are also some classical selections, including two of Darius Milhaud's touching 'Saudades do Brasil' for solo piano and a quintet arrangement of Heitor Villa Lobos 'Bachianas Brasilieris No.5' with the famous vocalise line given to the flute of Emmanuel Pahud. Composer-vocalist Milton Nascimento, a superstar of Brazilian music, lends his inimitably delicate voice to two songs, his own 'Travessia' and 'Eu sei que vou te amar' by the godfther of bossa nova Antonio Carlos Jobim. Brazilian Rhapsody contains a single disc with 15 songs. ...See Full Description
