Personnel: Seth Putnam (vocals); Paul Kraynak, John Kozik (guitar); Tim Morse (drums, snare drum). Recording information: Iguana Studios, Weymouth, MA. For mentally deranged sociopaths who find Boredoms' brand of noisecore a bit too mainstream and accessible, A.C. offers up the indescribable Top 40 Hits, a 39-minute, 40-song descent into the most hellish abyss of dissonant noise you could ever hope to imagine. The band's "music" lies somewhere between the sound of a distant faucet being turned on and off and the sound of impending doom smashing down on unsuspecting heads. But how can a mere critic ever hope to accurately describe the music of a band with such crafty song titles as "Don't Call Japanese Hardcore Jap Core" and "Breastfeeding Jm J. Bullock's Toenail Collection"? But wait, where are the promised Top 40 hits, you ask? As an added bonus, the band puts their own special twist on oldies radio favorites such as the Guess Who's "American Woman," Elton John's "I'm Still Standing," and, in an Oi! version that must be heard to be believed, the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive." Don't say you weren't warned. ~ Bret Love AC Top 40 Hits Songs | 1. | Some Hits |

Top 40 Hits
$11.85 Arch Enemy: Angela Gossow (vocals); Michael Amott, Christopher Amott (guitars); Sharlee d'Angelo (bass guitar); Daniel Erlandsson (drums). One gets the feeling that Doomsday Machine is something of a make-or-break album for Sweden's Arch Enemy. Easily the most commercial effort of the band's career thus far, it signals that dangerous moment in any heavy metal band's existence when, in a bid for acceptance on a wider scale, the bandmembers must risk upsetting the loyal fan base that has carried them thus far. Then again, original diehards already accused Arch Enemy of selling out years before, when they replaced popular frontman Johan Liiva with newcomer Angela Grossow and inaugurated their experiments with more subtle metallic songwriting tricks. And when your man in charge is Michael Amott, survivor of countless heavy metal style battles and long-deceased former bands, guitar-driven overkill is really the only surefire guarantee -- with risk-taking simply a function of the game. Doomsday Machine's "game" begins with "Enter the Machine," a majestic, harmony-laden instrumental that some might find more adequate for a power metal album than anything from Arch Enemy, but which actually proves very fitting as exceedingly melodious songs ...

Top 40 Hits
$18.55 The story about Sonic Order of Happiness is a tale that goes back quite a while… The beginning starts in the year of 1999 when five guys in Växjö started the indie-band Stalker. This band was mainly influated by brittish bands such as The Cure and Suede. One of the members was Niklas Johansson. At the same time Niklas was also engaged in a student theater thing in Växjö. There he met Mikael. The two of them had a lot of common interests and shared the same taste in music. They became friend, not close friends but friends.A couple of years went and Stalker struggled on. Managed to play all around the south of Sweden. From Uppsala in the north to Lund in the south. A few offers from major labels and broken promises first the drummer ...
| | Scorpions In Trance/Virgin Killer: The Back To Black Collection CDs (2000) (Import) Import; Limited Edition; France
Top 40 Hits
$34.15 Includes 7 Bonus Tracks. Prior to the Scorpions' monstrous success packing stadiums around the world during the '80s heavy metal heyday, a decade earlier they released a string of excellent hard rock albums that secretly helped shape the entire genre. In Trance/Virgin Killer is a limited-edition, leather-bound book containing both albums on two remastered discs, with 1974's Fly to the Rainbow dispersed as bonus tracks. Making this package even more attractive are extensive liner notes that contain an early band biography, complete lyrics, rare photos, as well as original album cover artwork previously banned in the United States. The sound throughout is crisp, clear, melodic, and heavy, and makes obvious the influence these albums had on many bands. It would seem unlikely that a young Eddie Van Halen never heard the opening scorcher "Dark Lady" before crafting his legendary ...
