A.C. includes: Seth Putnam (vocals). Additional personnel includes: Philip Anselmo (background vocals). Personnel: Seth Putnam (vocals, guitar, background vocals); Tim Morse (vocals, drums, background vocals); Scott Hull (guitar); A.C. Mens Chorus, Phil Anselmo, R. Williams (background vocals). Audio Mixers: Bill T. Miller ; Seth Putnam. Recording information: Headroom Studios, Boston, MA. Photographers: Justine Demetrick; Yashuhiro Koketsu. Depending on your level of sensitivity, this is either a hilarious parody of grindcore by three obnoxious punks or a tuneless mess of noise made by filthy homophobes. No one really knows what to think of A.C., but one thing that is certain is that this is abrasive, hateful music that often targets women and homosexuals for its lyrics. It is very hard to take any of this seriously, but songs like "I Just Saw the Gayest Guy on Earth" are easy to offend. Pantera fans may enjoy the duet with Phil Anselmo on their cover of Manowar's "Gloves of Metal," while their cover of "Theme From Three's Company" needs to be heard to believe. This has already found popularity in the underground punk world (many skateboarding videos feature A.C.) and in the metal world, but few others outside of those communities would be interested in the grating noise found on this album. ~ Bradley Torreano 40 More Reasons To Hate Us Music | List Price | $16.98 (You save $2.93) | | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Rock CDs, Heavy Metal, Alternative, Death Metal | | Label | Earache | | Orig Year | 1996 | | All Time Sales Rank | 105305 | | CD Universe Part number | 1193600 | | Catalog number | 149 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Mar 26, 1996 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Engineer | Bill T. 40 More Reasons To Hate Us
$64.65 THE WUMME YEARS... includes FAUST (1971) and SO FAR (1972) as well as the compilation LPS MUNIC & ELSEWHERE (1986) and THE LAT LP (1988). Also includes 40 page booklet with interviews and unpublished photos. Faust: Jean Hervé Peron, Kurt Graupner, Werner Diermaier, Arnulf Meifurt, Rudolf Sossna, Gunther Wusthoff, Hans Joachim Irmler. The members of Faust are the jokers in the Krautrock pack -- jokers because they never formed with any serious intentions, and jokers, too, because whatever preconceptions you might have in approaching that most disreputable-sounding of sonic genres, Faust is guaranteed to explode them. Julian Cope, author of the music's most lasting textbook (1995's Krautrocksampler), steadfastly describes Faust as the most mythical of all the bands forced to the surface by the cultural earthquakes of late-'60s Germany -- and that's mythical in every sense of the word. There are, after all, more apocryphal tales surrounding Faust than any band you can name, with the most apocryphal of them all being that most of the tales are true. And nowhere are those mind games more apparent than in an evening spent embedded in their entire early ouvre. The Wumme Years: 1970-73, titled for the studio where the band created much of its magic, documents an output that simply defies belief. Throughout the period under consideration, the band recorded two albums, ...

Never quite in the spotlight yet never quite forgotten, Helloween continued to record over a decade and a half after their debut album. And to some success, actually. Granted, that success was largely limited to Europe and Japan, but it was enough to sustain the group. And, weirdly enough, through sheer existence -- continual touring and ...
