| | Bloodstone Ultimate Collection CD Bloodstone Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
This is one for the time capsule or at least a permanent slot in the CD changer. Heart-rendering soul music by one of its best purveyors, buoyed by two excellent falsetto singers -- silky smooth Charles McCormick and the exciting Henry Williams -- Bloodstone's music is absolutely compelling. This excellent compilation features new songs, rekindled versions of their own hits, and stunning remakes. Renditions of Tower of Power's "You're Still a Young Man," Linda Jones' "Hypnotized," the Drewvells' "Tell Him" (as "Tell Her"), and the Fuzz's "I Love You for All Seasons" are unexpected, delightful surprises. Traditionalists and purists will quibble that "Natural High," "We Go a Long Way Back," "Outside Woman," "Never Let You Go," and some others are recuts, rather than the originals, but the voices and the songs are as riveting as ever. ~ Andrew Hamilton

| | Gina Forsyth You Are Here CD (2001)
Ultimate Collection songs
$15.05 This is a sparkling solo debut album by award-winning singer/songwriter and violin and guitar wizard Gina Forsyth. Forsyth has already garnered much acclaim for her work in the past decade with Cajun musicians Bruce Daigrepont and Waylon Thibodeaux. Now she speaks for herself on this 2001 CD release. The play list reflects the many sides of Gina Forsyth. There is a nod to her adopted Cajun culture with "J'ai Fait Tout le Tour du Grand Bois." She segues just as easily into rock & roll on "Everywhere I Am," twangs it country-style on " An Old Fashioned Waltz," turns moody on "My Name is (Mud)," and gets romantic on the album's title cut, "You Are Here." Her good humor is showing on "She's Looking for a Dave," while "Somewhere at the Foot of ...
