Four Apollo Flights and Challenger
Nasa: Collector's Choice Double Feature movie This four-hour long, double sided DVD is a great bargain for space enthusiasts. Nasa: Collector's Choice Double Feature video The first side of the disc include four original NASA documentaries on the flights of Apollo 11, Apollo 13, Apollo 15, and Apollo 16. The transfers to DVD aren't the best; but, the films are very enjoyable and are probably worth the price of the DVD by themselves. But, the video footage of the 1986 Challenger disaster on the second side is the DVD's real gem. Generally, the footage is mostly unedited without any narration. It allows the viewer to see the crew's preparations before entering the Challenger. And, the DVD presents uninterrupted footage of Challenger flight itself from launch to the moment of disaster, continuing uninterrupted for a number of minutes afterwards as pieces of the spacecraft fall into the ocean. The DVD contains a NASA documentary on the conclusions reached with regard to the causes of the Challenger disaster. The transfer to DVD of the Challenger video footage is of high quality.
