Jack Off Jill Clear Hearts Grey Flowers Songs Clear Hearts Grey Flowers Music Clear Hearts Grey Flowers Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews clear hearts grey flowers album review. This is by far the best album JOJ have produced. A creepiness and sarcastic/aggressive humour is the main essense throughout the entire album which is carried out well with Jessicka's melodic vocals, ranging from soft little girl-like whispers to fierce shrieking screams overflowing with emotion and aggression. However don't let this put you off, there is something very uplifting about Jessicka's screeching voice with lyrics such as 'When you are miserable know that I'm just fine.' and there is a definite riot grrl kickass feel to it.The lyrics are clever and sharp yet often perverse with blunt sarcasm for a powerful impact. As far as the song themes go they range from a lot of hatred, self-loathing, fear, sadness and bad relationships and a stab at today's American society and the outdated happy Christian family image the nation hides behind. There's not a dull song on the record as every song contains an incredidly catchy yet unique sound with amazing vocals and heavy grunge guitar riffs likely to stick in your head afterwards. You won't be disappointed. Submitted by charli (England, UK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.

| | Lacuna Coil Comalies CD (2002)
Clear Hearts Grey Flowers CD music
$12.39 Representing a classic case of delayed fame, Italian goth-metal act Lacuna Coil broke into the American music consciousness via a much talked-about showing on the Ozzfest 2004 second stage, nearly two years after the release of their third album, COMALIES. Similar to its American counterparts Evanescence, this European sextet features the dual vocals of Cristina Scabbia and her male counterpart, Andrea Ferro. Despite the liberal amounts of keyboards added to the mix, guitarists Cristiano Migliore and Marco Biazzi more than hold their own, pumping choppy riffs into the 1980s-sounding "Self Deception" and the simmering opener "Swamped." What makes Lacuna Coil so unique in an often musically conservative genre is the band's ability to dabble with ethereal dynamics. Such is the case with the soaring title cut and equally potent "The Ghost Woman and the Hunter," both of which blend neo-classical riffing, swirling synth runs and a perfect juxtaposition of light ...

| | Hollies Would You Believe? CD (1966) Import
Clear Hearts Grey Flowers CD music
$27.95 One of the less essential '60s albums by the Hollies, whose capabilities were arguably stretched by the two-album-a-year-pace-in-addition-to-three-hit-singles model established by the Beatles during this time. Their version of Paul Simon's "I Am a Rock" is nice, but the soul and early rock covers of Sam & Dave, Otis Redding, and Chuck Berry are pretty dispensable; the Hollies were not the Stones or the Animals, lacking their soul and interpretative imagination. Some of the originals are pretty ho-hum too (including the pathetic "Fifi the Flea," which was covered by the Everly Brothers). But every Hollies album of the '60s has some strong overlooked tracks. On this one, they're the surprisingly tough folk-rockers "Hard, Hard Year" and "I've Got a Way of My Own." The ultra-catchy "Don't You Even Care," written by Clint Ballard, Jr. (also responsible for their number one British hit "I'm Alive," as well as "The Game of Love" and "You're No Good"), is the real obscure gem here and could have well been a hit under its own steam. The album's last song, "I Can't Let Go," was a big hit in Britain (and a ...
