5 stars A rare gem among war films.
I saw this movie in 1977. It was the first film directed by an American that showed how many German soldiers viewed the war, and fought only for survival and friendship, not for nazism. The action scenes are goose bumpers, especially with the cameramen moving behind the men. The merits of this film is that it was very well done, it is anti-stereotypical. As a comment,at the end of the movie all the members of the german plattoon who died appear one by one, and they all seem to march to eternity. This is a strong reminiscence of "All Quiet in the Wesern Front", perhaps the best antiwar movie of all time.

4 stars A Medal for Cross Of Iron
Gritty war movie with some fine character actors...very enjoyable for those who enjoy this 'type' of film...A fine movie for it's time, (and an excellant part by James Coburn, a favorite actor of mine) and a member of my personal Top 100 Movie List, as if that makes a difference! Enjoy.

5 stars outstanding and real
A virtually unheard of war movie that should have been labeled a "classic". Tough and honest, with plenty of action. More important, it has a strong storyline.

3 stars A "must see"
Terrific acting and directing was done in this picture. A very different type of war movie, but a very effective one.

5 stars Real Germans
This movie is one of the few which shows not all Germans were die hard Nazis.Excellent way they showed the true horrors of the Eastern Front and how no mercy was given on either side.Basicly about a glory seeker/coward who will even kill his own men to win a medal he does not deserve.Only the tough antinazi sargent is in his way.All other films show the Germans as ruthless murderers not soldiers called fight for their country. How many Americans fought for the Democrats or Republicans. This movie is a must see.

Blondie (Clint Eastwood) and Tuco (Eli Wallach) are gunmen who admire each other professionally but dislike each other personally. Encountering a group of dying soldiers, Tuco learns the location of the graveyard where a Confederate treasure is buried, while Blondie learns the identity of the exact grave. Joined by mercenary drifter Angel Eyes (Lee Van Cleef), they cross the desert, each of the desperadoes knowing half the secret and each focusing his squinty eyes on the $200,000 bounty. In a classic that puts style above substance, Italian director Sergio Leone uses vivid Cinemascope imagery to depict a bleak and bloody American West in this final installment of his collaboration with Clint Eastwood in the Man with No Name Trilogy. A prototype for the so-called Spaghetti Western genre, the film solidified Eastwood's position as a major international star with his stoic, ...

In M. Night Shyamalan's THE SIXTH SENSE, Bruce Willis plays Dr. Malcolm Crowe, a successful Philadelphia child psychologist who is haunted by the sudden reappearance and suicide of a former patient. Months later Dr. Crowe encounters Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment), a troubled, withdrawn young boy who bears a striking similarity to his earlier patient. Dr. Crowe is compelled to help Cole, not only for the boy's sake, but for his own redemption. As Dr. Crowe struggles to determine what torments Cole, he must also come to terms with his increasingly distant relationship to his wife (Olivia Williams). Meanwhile, Cole is unable to describe the horrible things he sees even to his worried mother (Toni Collette). The scene where Cole finally tells Dr. Crowe about his supernatural secret is one of the 1990s most quoted and well-known cinematic moments. A gripping ghost story with a stunning finale, THE SIXTH SENSE became a ...

As a counterpoint to the heroic horde of THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, the aging gunmen of Sam Peckinpah's masterpiece break the very laws of honor which bind them in this bloody and meditative tale of the American West--widely considered to be the self-conscious nail in the coffin of the genre. William Holden, Robert Ryan, and Ernest Borgnine star as the leaders of a grizzled crew of Texan bandits who ride to Mexico, where, one by one, they are unceremoniously slaughtered by a Mexican revolutionary. The western, a genre steeped in legend and the concept of loyalty, was a dying ...
