Ghana: Rhythms Of The People songs
$14.99 International pop star Youssou N'Dour explores of the themes and sounds of Senegal's Sufi culture on this striking 2004 release. Markedly different than the artist's other albums, on which African elements combine with Caribbean influence and various American styles (including soul, jazz, and rock), EGYPT moves away from N'Dour's trademark pop and deep into the territory of traditional religious music. Though characterized by an undercurrent of West African rhythms and inflections, the sound here--as the title indicates--draws on North African and Middle Eastern Arab music, and features such regional instruments ...

| | Melotia Saving August Divine CD (2009)
Ghana: Rhythms Of The People songs
$6.69 Melotia is an LA based hard rock band that formed in August 2004 when singer/guitarist Ryan David parted company with his Australian group. Having arrived on US shores from Sydney Australia just 9 months earlier, RD suddenly found himself homeless with no band, no money, no job and few friends. "I had a bag of tattered clothes, 2 guitars and an amplifer all packed into a rapidly deteriorating 1982 Dodge Van that I was basically living in at the time." RD immediately set about putting together a new band. Through a process of trial and error, along with a few line up changes Melotia settled as a three piece with John Maryanski on bass and Clark Skelton on drums. Melotia released their self-produced debut album "Every Waking Moment" on the 15th of June, 2007. The band proceeded to tour extensivelythrough 2007 and 2008, hitting hundreds of cities in over 14 states. After completing their Summer Kamikaze Tour in June/July 2008 Melotia wrapped up 15 months of intense touring and took a much needed break from the road. Regrouping in August 2008 the boys grinded ...
