This music DVD is a documentary film of the first Tibetan Freedom Concert and featurees performances by 20 bands unit ed by a common cause. Features Beastie Boys, Beck, John Lee Hooker, Tribe Called Quest, Sonic Youth, Rage Against the Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, Pavement, Bjork, Fugees and man y others. DVD also includes backstage footage and commentar ies by performers and audience members. In 1998, 20 artists as diverse as KRS-1, John Lee Hooker, and Noel Gallagher of Oasis put on a benefit concert for the Tibetan people. This film, directed by Sarah Pirozhek, documents that monumental concert and gives an account of the Tibetan people's plight and their nonviolent protest against their oppression.
