Includes liner notes by Steffan Chirazi. With the 1980 release of Ace of Spades, Motörhead had their anthem of anthems -- that is, the title track -- the one trademark song that would summarize everything that made this early incarnation of the band so legendary, a song that would be blasted by legions of metalheads for generations on end. It's a legendary song, for sure, all two minutes and 49 bracing seconds of it. And the album of the same name is legendary as well, among Motörhead's all-time best, often considered their single best, in fact, along with Overkill. Ace of Spades was Motörhead's third great album in a row, following the 1979 releases of Overkill and Bomber, respectively. Those two albums have a lot in common with Ace of Spaces. The classic lineup -- Lemmy (bass and vocals), "Fast" Eddie Clarke (guitar), and "Philthy Animal" Taylor (drums) -- is still in place and sounding as alive and crazed as ever. The album is still rock-solid, boasting several superlative standouts. Actually, besides the especially high number of standouts on Ace of Spades -- at least relative to Bomber, which wasn't quite as strong overall as Overkill had been -- the only key difference between this 1980 album and its two 1979 predecessors is the producer, in this case Vic Maile. The result of his work isn't all that different from that of Jimmy Miller, the longtime Rolling Stones producer who had worked on Overkill and Bomber, but it's enough to give Ace of Spades a feeling distinct from its two very similar-sounding predecessors. This singular sound (still loud and in your face, rest assured), along with the exceptionally strong songwriting and the legendary stature of the title track, makes Ace of Spades the ideal Motörhead album if one were to choose one and only one studio album. It's highly debatable whether Ace of Spades is tops over the breakthrough Overkill, as the latter is more landmark because of its earlier release, and is somewhat rougher around the edges, too. Either way, Ace of Spades rightly deserves its legacy as a classic. There's no debating that. ~ Jason Birchmeier Feted by bikers, respected by punks, Motorhead exemplified rock's outlaw chic. On Ace Of Spades their speed-metal attack exploded with unparalleled fury. Thrashing guitars and primitive drums underpinned vocalist/bassist Lemmy, whose blooded-throat roar enhances the trio's aggression. Mind-numbingly basic and deafeningly loud, they savage rock's pomp and circumstance, rivalling 'Louie Louie' for simplicity and excitement. Chock-full of anthems for the dispossessed (witness '(We Are) The Road Crew'), Ace Of Spades is a classic of its genre. Motorhead exude the same cartoon personae as the Ramones, and as a result inspire a similar affection.Q (8/00, p.127) - Included in Q's "Best Metal Albums Of All Time" Q (10/96, pp.186-187) - 4 Stars - Excellent - "...their defining moment....the title track is not so much the best song on the record as the greatest rock single ever recorded, three minutes of genuinely hair-raising rollercoasteresque Grand Prix tank racing superfast guitar-belch rock..." Ace Of Spades
$10.39 + 5 Bonus Tracks (4 From Golden Years EP)
Motörhead: Lemmy Kilmister (vocals, bass guitar); "Fast" Eddie Clarke (guitar); Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor (drums, percussion). One of a trifecta of classic Motorhead albums featuring the group's penultimate lineup of Lemmy (bass/vocals), Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor (drums), and "Fast" Eddie Clarke (guitar), BOMBER (the other two being OVERKILL and ACE OF SPADES) is as loud, fast, raw, and heavy as music gets. The title track and the opener, "Dead Men Tell No Tales," remain two of the group's all-time definitive tracks, both showcasing Lemmy's patented hoarse growl and distorted bass riffing to spine-tingling and head-banging effect. Recorded in late summer 1979 and released by the end of the year, Bomber quickly followed up Overkill, Motörhead's landmark breakthrough album from earlier in the year. Bomber bears a lot in common with its fan-favorite predecessor. For starters, it features the classic Motörhead lineup: Lemmy (bass and vocals), "Fast" Eddie Clarke (guitar), and "Philthy Animal" Taylor (drums). Also like Overkill, Bomber features the production grace of Jimmy Miller, the man responsible for the Rolling Stones' late-'60s/early-'70s albums, including ...
| | Motorhead Overkill CD (1979) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Ace Of Spades
$9.99 Includes liner notes by Steffan Chirazi. Motörhead's landmark second album, Overkill, marked a major leap forward for the band, and it remains one of their all-time best, without question. In fact, some fans consider it their single best, topping even Ace of Spaces. It's a ferocious album, for sure, perfectly showcasing Motörhead's trademark style of no holds barred proto-thrash -- a kind of punk-inflected heavy metal style that is sloppy and raw yet forceful and in your face. Motörhead, the band's self-titled debut from 1977, had been rush-recorded, and its stripped-down, super-raw sound wasn't all that impressive, at least not relative to what would follow. Overkill is what followed, recorded in December 1978 and January 1979, and released not long thereafter. The band's sound is fully formed here, and it totally explodes right off the bat on the five-minute title track. A number of Motörhead standards follow, among them "Stay Clean" and "No Class." Produced by Jimmy Miller, who had helmed a number of classic Rolling Stones albums (Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St., Goats Head Soup), Overkill sounds wonderful, especially on the numerous remastered editions of this album. The band's classic lineup ...
| | Motorhead Iron Fist CD (1982) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Ace Of Spades
$9.99 + 5 Bonus Tracks
Motorhead includes: Lemmy Kilmister (vocals, bass); "Fast" Eddie Clarke. Recorded in January and February 1982. Includes liner notes by Steffan Chirazi. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Another first-rate Motörhead album -- the fifth in a row, to be precise -- Iron Fist is the final one to feature the band's classic lineup, as guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke would depart following the album's completion. Released in 1982, Iron Fist is mostly distinguished from its predecessors in terms of production, and not favorably. Clarke produced this album himself, whereas industry veterans Jimmy Miller and Vic Maile had respectively manned Motörhead's past four albums. Clarke's production is a bit sterile in comparison, with his guitar in the forefront, sounding slightly more polished than usual. These are minor points, however. Iron Fist is a fine Motörhead album, and there's not much at all to complain about here. As usual, the performance is ferocious and there several standout songs ("Iron Fist," "Heart of Stone," "Speedfreak," "[Don't Let 'Em] Grind You Down") amid a strong selection overall. If Iron Fist falls a little short of its four-star predecessors, it's still in a class with those ...
| | Motorhead Another Perfect Day CD (1983) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Ace Of Spades
$9.99 + 3 Bonus Tracks. Feat.Brian Robertson-Thinlizzy
Motorhead includes: Lemmy Kilmister (vocals, bass); Brian Robertson (guitar). Includes liner notes by Steffan Chirazi. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Liner Note Authors: Steffan Chirazi; Lemmy Kilmister. Recording information: 02/??/1983-06/10/1983. Photographer: Mick Stevenson. Unknown Contributor Role: Brian Robertson. To this day, Another Perfect Day remains one of the most unique (albeit misunderstood) albums in the entire Motörhead catalog. The band's first effort sans legendary axe-meister "Fast" Eddie Clarke (following six albums, of which at least three are still considered timeless classics), Another Perfect Day would be the band's only outing with onetime Thin Lizzy axeman Brian "Robbo" Robertson. Clearly a nervous musical marriage from the start, the album captures Motörhead mainstays Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister and "Philthy Animal" Taylor struggling to adapt their raw power and unparalleled distortion to Robertson's more mainstream hard rock instincts and melodic tendencies. ...
| | Motorhead Rock 'N' Roll CD (1987) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Ace Of Spades
$10.15 . 2 Bonus Tracks
Motorhead: Lemmy Kilmeister (vocals, guitar); Wurzel, Phil Campbell (guitar, slide guitar, background vocals); Philthy "Animal" Taylor (drums). Additional personnel: Michael Palin (spoken vocals). Recorded in 1987. Includes liner notes by Stefan Chirazi. All tracks have been digitally remastered. You really don't need all that many Motörhead albums. Certainly, you need one with "Ace of Spades," and maybe "Overkill" and "Bomber." But do you need one with harmonies? Not really. And yes, that is slide guitar you can hear in the background. The best track on this so-so collection is "Eat the Rich," which accompanied the film of the same title in which Lemmy attempted to act. Now, this writer is all for artistic growth and exploration of one's inner child. But, sh*t, this is Motörhead. They were one of the things you used to be able to count on in life. ~ Alex Ogg Though they are usually pegged as heavy metal, Motörhead are actually a rock & roll band in the purest sense. And this aptly titled release reminds you that despite their outrageous speed and ear-shattering distortion, Motörhead tunes have much more in common with Chuck Berry than Black Sabbath. Unfortunately, the songwriting here is rather uninspired for the band's standards, ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Ace Of Spades
$6.39 The Corrs: Jim Corr (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Sharon Corr (vocals, violin); Andrea Corr (vocals, tin whistle); Caroline Corr (vocals, drums, bodhran, percussion). Recorded at Ardmore Studios in Dublin, Ireland in January 2002. You knew the Corrs had made it when they played the final JFK Awards ceremony of the Clinton administration. Playing it would have been achievement enough, but their status as a happening thing was cemented at the end of the ceremony, during the encores, when everybody was taking their final bows. Bill moseyed up over to Andrea, put his arm around her, and when she was looking away, sized her up -- at precisely the same moment Chuck Berry was checking her out. If that doesn't mean that you've broken America, entering its pop culture, I don't know what does, expect for maybe a VH1-endorsed piece of product like Live in Dublin. Lo and behold, that's exactly what the Corrs received in the spring of 2002, a year and a half after "In Blue" and its accompanying single "Breathless" broke down the doors in America for the U.S. Only two songs on this set list are shared with In Blue, but that doesn't mean that the group returns to their slightly more traditional Celtic roots on the remainder of the songs. Sure, there are hints of that, but there are also four pop covers, two of them ("Little Wing" and "Ruby Tuesday") featuring ...
| | Rise 13: Magick Rock, Vol. 1 CD (1999)
Ace Of Spades
$13.39 The 1990s saw the rise of a style that came to called stoner rock, which found a lot of post-Baby Boomer bands recalling the heavy metal and psychedelic hard rock of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Black Sabbath was the band that had the greatest influence on stoner rock, but stoner bands also showed an appreciation of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Blue Cheer and others. When a lot of alternative ...

Ace Of Spades
$13.65 Creative, Talented and Charismatic are just a few words to describe this young force in the field of entertainment. Born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, tracy’s music and entertainment career has spanned over fifteen plus years of hard work and determination. Following a call from God, his unique talent was that he never aspired to become a singer, composer or the young executive that he is today. He is constantly reinventing his musical franchise. He set out to becoming an electrical engineer, but as fate had it, tracy randall saw that there was another calling in-store for him instead and that was one word MUSIC. His vast love for music is very diverse. Influenced at an early age by the legendary genius of Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Peabo Bryson and Glen Jones just to name a few. tracy took a “leap of faith†and followed the desires of his heart.Opposed to becoming that electrical engineer, he opted for a career in entertainment. He engineered a major recording contract with T neck/Island Black Music in October 1996. "Now I just want to create great music and bring people closer to God and give them hope and direction for their life. I feel that it is part of the reason for my journey while I’m here on this earth," says randall. With the shuffling of labels in 1999, the Polygram/Universal merger prompted this great talent to search for another recording home. He has packed a new record deal with Lavish Records, LLC and partnered with Corner Boyz Worldwide, LLC to executive produce along with Alex “Bruh†Brown, Rodney “Baby ...
