If in the kingdom of the pop ballad the chorus still reigns supreme, then Squeeze is sitting pretty in the pleasure palace. Despite being largely a cult success since the late '70s, the band hasn't lost its sense of fun or sacrificed its style in the face of the electronic revolution. Squeeze remains at heart the quintessential pop band, with fluffy riffs, music rich in appeal and variety, and lyrics to warm the cockles of any suburban heart.
Glenn Tilbrook's voice belies his age and still has the same home-grown tinge to it, occasionally doubled with the trademark octave vocals to hammer home the chorus hook. And while there's an overall sense that with the encroaching years that the pace of the band-members' lives has slowed, hints of mature crises appear, such as in "To Be a Dad" ("I went to the cleaners / And came back with my life"). The band turns in instrumental performances that put most modern acts to shame, and manages to explore some of the more complex harmonies to be found on the early 21st century British scene. This is honest pop with no hidden agenda, as appealing to the careful listener as it is to the casual.

| Domino Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Classic Apart from Gratest Hits this was the first Squeeze album i bought. I didn't know any of the songs but got into them quickly. I had read about certain ones on the web, and was looking forward to hearing them all. The title track has to be my fave. It is so easy to get into Squeeze songs because of the 'storytelling' content. As well there being amazing hooks, riffs and melody there are people to get to know, you can get angry at some and want others to win, and Domino, To Be A Dad, Morning are testiment to this.
There each song is different. Glenn sings lead on most as usual, however Chris has a go and to great, and intereting effect.
It's a shame that this seems to be the last Squeeze album, however for me it was just the first and led me to buy all the others and begin my Squeeze fan life!

Another sweet and fine later Squeeze CD This one's songs share a theme of being all grown up; the first song's about an older rocker looking on musing about the partying young rocker and the lessons to learn; the rest of the songs include sweet thoughts on one's children, communication breakdowns and realistic slice of life love songs that Squeeze does so well. There's plenty of lyrical cleverness as usual, and hooks galore which is why these guys are so catchy and tuneful you can't miss out on collecting all their excellent CD's including this one. Domino album
$9.65 In late 1999, the Dutch label KonKurrent invited Minneapolis band Low into an in-house studio to record one of the label's near-legendary In the Fishtank sessions; bands have two days to record between 20-30 minutes of all new material of their choosing. Also touring at the time were Low's pals, the Australian instrumental dynamos the Dirty Three. Low invited them in, and in the same collaborative spirit as another In the Fishtank ...
| | Doors Live At The Aquarius Theatre: The First Performance CDs (2001)
Domino CD music
$28.09 From the Doors' own Bright Midnight Records comes this double-disc package featuring the first of two sets performed on July 21, 1969, at the Aquarius Theater in Hollywood. The evening was billed as " Elektra Records Showcase Concert Series Presents..." and, as lead vocalist Jim Morrison announces at the outset, these homecoming performances were done for the express ...
| | Doors Live At The Aquarius Theater-The Second Performance CDs (2001)
Domino music CDs
$28.15 As the title suggests, this set contains the second of two complete shows from the Doors at the Aquarius Theater in Hollywood, July 21, 1969. Both were professionally documented, anticipating enough material for a stopgap concert album as the band simultaneously composed and arranged new sides for their subsequent Morrison ...
| | Ike & Tina Turner Nutbush City Limits/Feel Good CD (2006) Bonus Tracks
Domino songs
$17.75 Raven's 2006 two-fer Nutbush City Limits/Feel Good combines two of Ike & Tina Turner's last albums together and adds five bonus tracks, three of which were taken from other Ike & Tina albums from the early '70s, one taken from a Tina solo record, and one disco mix of "Nutbush City Limits." The album that arrives first on this two-fer was actually the last of these two to be released: Nutbush City Limits appeared in 1973, a year after Feel Good, but its title track is one of Ike & Tina's best-known songs so it's an appropriate ...
| | Raga For Peter Walker CD (2006) Digipak
Domino album
$10.09 Many of the legends of acoustic guitar in the 20th century have already passed on -- John Fahey, Robbie Basho, Ali Farka Toure. Due partially to his spare recording career, Peter Walker's own reputation has not always been as well known as those of ...

| | Caustic Resin Trick Question CD (1999)
Domino music CDs
$12.39 Most people know Caustic Resin only through their collaboration with Built to Spill or through frontman Brett Netson's work on several Built to Spill releases. While the assumption that Caustic Resin is only Built to Spill's lesser sibling is certainly unfair, its also understandable. With the exception of Netson's voice, Caustic Resin sounds like Built to Spill's less adventurous side. But the vocal will probably be enough to turn most people off to the Idaho natives. Netson's voice is scratchy, straining, ...
