| | I Love Metal CD
Includes cover versions of songs by Motorhead, Motley Crue, Slayer, AC/DC, Twisted Sister, Girlschool, Judas Priest, Celtic Frost, Scorpions, Iron Maiden and W.A.S.P.
Contrary to its title, I Love Metal is not a heavy metal album. Rather, it's a selection of emocore and punk/ska revivalists covering generally well-known metal tunes in their own respective styles. The results are variable, of course -- depending on both the quality of the song covered and the band's level of commitment -- but there are actually quite a few engagingly fun moments. Some of the bands and songs included are Less Than Jake with Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It," Mephiskapheles with Celtic Frost's "Necromantical Screams," the Get Up Kids doing Mötley Crüe's "On With the Show," Avail doing Motörhead's "Iron Fist," and Hot Rod Circuit on AC/DC's "Sin City." ~ Steve Huey I Love Metal Songs | 1. | Raining Blood - Reggie and the Full Effect |

I Love Metal music CDs
$14.35 It isn't hard to find listeners who aren't huge fans of progressive rock on the whole but are passionate followers of certain prog bands -- and if you ask them why they enjoy Pink Floyd, Yes, or the Moody Blues so much more than they enjoy other prog bands, they'll tell you that their favorites have mastered something that the others haven't: great hooks. And without a doubt, hooks are a major reason why some of IQ's most devoted followers are people who don't necessarily buy a lot of prog rock CDs. Hooks are certainly a major ...

$14.04 The latest album from Swedish doom rockers Katatonia, their first studio effort since 2006, is as moody and beautiful as their other latter-day work. $13.15 Dutch pomp-metal band Epica, fronted by classically trained mezzo-soprano Simone Simons, released their second album for Nuclear Blast only a year after their label debut, the more unique The Classical Conspiracy. | | Honky Tonk Man: The Essential Johnny Horton 1956-1960 CDs (1996)
I Love Metal music CDs
$15.99 Recorded between January 11, 1956 and July 16, 1969. Includes liner notes by Colin Escott.
All tracks on disc 1 are mono; all tracks on disc 2 are stereo.
This 36-track double-CD set, running just under an hour and a half, effectively chronicles Johnny Horton's Columbia Records career. The first disc, which is in mono, traces Horton's honky-tonk work of 1956-1957, starting with "Honky Tonk Man." Though lacking the crossover appeal of his later work at the time, this is the material on which his reputation stands today, with people like Dwight Yoakam resurrecting it. ...
