Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest album for sale Product Description

Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest album for sale by Zao was released May 26, 1998 on the Tooth & Nail label. By far one of the most alternately stark, gripping, and emotional offerings ever produced by the heavy music genre, this album is considered by most fans to be the definitive Zao work. After the dissolution of the band's prior incarnation, original member, drummer, and songwriter Jesse Smith assembled a new lineup that included guitarists Russ Cogdell and Brett Detar (who would later play for the Juliana Theory) and poetically inclined, screechingly devastating vocalist Daniel Weyandt. Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest CD music contains a single disc with 10 songs.   ...See Full Description

...and Angels fold their Wings
This is Zao's second major release. It certainly doesn't fall short! I wouldn't say it as good as "Liberate te ex Inferis", but that's also a lot to compare it too.

things are no longer the same
so here's what happened: this CD came out and it raised the bar for hardcore/metal bands. you may have noticed that many recycled sounds circulate throughout the hardcore "scene" today, and one of those is undoubtedly the Zao sound.

Diary Of A Madman/Bark At The Moon/Ultimate Sin CD (1998) 4.4 stars

Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest CD music Originally released as three separate albums, DIARY OF A MADMAN, BARK AT THE MOON and THE ULTIMATE SIN. As part of Sony's specially priced "three-in-one" packages, three Ozzy Osbourne classics were issued together in 1998, DIARY OF A MADMAN, BARK AT THE MOON, and THE ULTIMATE SIN. Although it might seem strange that Ozzy's most popular solo album, 1981's BLIZZARD OF OZ was ommited from the trio, the three CDs are nevertheless among the most popular heavy metal releases of the '80s. 1981's DIARY OF A MADMAN was Ozzy's second and final album with original guitarist Randy Rhoads, while both 1983's BARK AT THE MOON and 1986's THE ULTIMATE SIN featured six-string shredder Jake E. Lee. Although the recording of DIARY OF A MADMAN was rushed (a deadline had to be met for an impending tour), the album remains one of Ozzy's finest. Such metallic standards as "Over the Mountain" and the stoner anthem "Flying High Again" are obvious standouts, as are "Believer," "Little Dolls," "Tonight," and the haunting title track. The other two albums show Osbourne moving in a slightly more commercial direction, yet there are plenty of rockers to go around--BARK AT THE MOON's title track and "Rock n' Roll Rebel," plus THE ULTIMATE SIN's title track and "Lightning Strikes," among others. Import compilation combines three of the shock rocker's albums, 'Diary Of A Madman' (1981), 'Bark At The Moon' (1983), & 'The Ultimate Sin' (1986) (Out-of-print in the US), together in one low-priced package. Each disc features individual standard packaging & come housed together in a slipcase. Sony. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Digitally remastered by Brian Lee and Bob Ludwig. Recorded at Townhouse Studios & Air Studios, London, England; Davout Studios, Paris, France. Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest album for sale Many rock musicians love to run around insisting that they are "genre busters" who "defy musical boundaries" when, in fact, they provide generic, cookie-cutter material that is big on formula and short on originality. If one repeats a lie often enough, he/she may start to believe it -- and there are plenty of musicians who honestly believe all the nonsense that goes into their press kits. But when Kylesa's members tell you that To Walk a Middle Course is difficult to categorize, they speak the truth; the Savannah, GA, outfit really is striving for originality on this CD, which was recorded in 2004 and released in 2005. Perhaps the most convenient description of what they do is alternative metal -- a broad, far-reaching term that has been applied to everyone from Limp Bizkit to Hammerlock to Nothingface to System of a Down. But if Kylesa are essentially an alt-metal band, they're an alt-metal band with a variety of metal and non-metal influences; during the course of the album, they draw on everything from doom metal/stoner rock to punk to goth rock. Elements of Neurosis, Eyehategod, Orange Goblin, and Black Sabbath assert themselves, as do elements of the Melvins, Lydia Lunch, and X. In fact, Kylesa often employ the punky male vocals/punky female vocals contrast that worked so well for X in the '80s, although they're a much heavier band. Kylesa can be very dissonant, noisy, and discordant, but they aren't that way all the time; moments of sensory assault can easily be followed by passages that are moody, eerie, and darkly atmospheric. To Walk a Middle Course isn't as consistent as it could have been, but more often than not, Kylesa's risk-taking pays off on this intriguing, if uneven, effort. ~ Alex Henderson Recording information: Hot Head Recording Studio, Los Angeles, CA (10/2004). Kylesa: Corey Barhorst (bass instrument); Laura Pleasants, Brandon Baltzley, Phillip Cope. Personnel: Phillip Cope (vocals, guitar, sampler); Laura Pleasants (vocals, guitar); Corey Barhorst (vocals, sampler); Brandon Baltzley (drums).

Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest songs All tracks have been digitally mastered using HDCD technology. This quartet plays energetic, straight-ahead, but slightly quirky rock and roll. "Jenny Says" opens the disc with a guitar lick copped straight from '60s garage rock (Them's "I Can Only Give You Everything", to be specific), and pretty much sets the tone. "How Do You Tell Someone" asks the musical question: "How do you tell someone you don't love them? / How do you tell someone you don't care anymore?" The tune whirls around a steady foundation of quick-strummed acoustic guitar and tight drumming, finally resolving itself in a strangely joyous, repeated chorus. There are a few straight-up rocking rave-ups ("Light it On Fire"), but the general sound is sparse and bright. Cowboy Mouth come across as a kind of "cleaned-up" Georgia Satellites. ARE YOU WITH ME is good clean fun, for those who like their rock and roll with harmonized vocals, hooky choruses, and chiming guitars. Recorded at the Egyptian Room, New Orleans, Louisiana in 1996. Personnel: Fred LeBlanc (vocals, guitar, drums, percussion); John Thomas Griffith (vocals, guitar); Paul Sanchez (vocals, acoustic guitar); Rob Savoy (vocals); Peter Holsapple (guitar, mandolin, accordion, piano, organ). Recording information: Egyptian Room, New Orleans, LA (1996). Photographer: James Minchin. Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest CD music This is a continuous in-the-mix CD compiled and mixed by Christopher Lawrence. Christopher Lawrence's third annual mix for Moonshine isn't much different from his preceding offerings. Like those mixes, this one features a handful of lengthy tracks (none clocking under five minutes) mixed together seamlessly. Part of this mix's seamlessness is due to the homogeneity of the tracks Lawrence throws down -- most lumber along at the same syncopated tempo, are driven by layers upon layers of synthesizer riffs, and feature lots of superfluous ornamentation intended to trip you out. Highlights include the occasional intense buildup, melodic interlude, and ambient lull. For the most part, however, this mix glides along at a steady pace, peaking during Marc Auerbach's "Muke" when a heavily treated vocal chant cuts through the layers of synthesizer riffs and then again during Sonik Kross' "Walking With Dreamz" during the standard snare-drum buildup so often associated with trance. Overall, however, there aren't too many noteworthy moments on this mix; it's best taken in its entirety rather than on a track-by-track basis. Part of the reason why Lawrence became so popular in the States is because he's consistent -- he releases about one album a year and they're all fairly similar. Chances are you know what you're getting into before even giving this album a listen. No surprises here. ~ Jason Birchmeier Audio Mixer: Christopher Lawrence.

Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest album for sale The german electro-rock band Heavy-Current has released their third studio album 'Edacious', which is showing the band from a new and more rock side, whereas furthermore also the electronic and danceable factor is coming to the fore. Elements of rock music are meeting wide synthetic parts and melodies. The results of this special symbiosis are impelling hymns and club capable sounds: Electro meets Rock! '....the goal is the experiment, which turns the work with heavy-current into something special!', says mastermind and singer Jan Weisbrod about the new CD and the development of the band. Heavy-Current was founded in 1999 in Germany as an Electro-Wave project and has consequently developed to their today's sound through many self-produced EP's and albums. The band has collected numerous stage experience and knows how to convince on bigger stages, as their performance in range of diverse german festivals has proofed impressively and which was documented on a live DVD, produced in 2005. The new album 'Edacious' was released on September, 15th, 2006 as official debut under the german underground label Sonorium. A video clip was produced for the song 'DBN', which can be viewed in the web and which also can be provided in DVD quality for promotion purposes. 'DBN' video clip for viewing and download: http://vids. myspace /index. cfm?fuseaction=vids. individual&videoid=1038043383 http:// heavy-current. de/downloads. html Songs like 'Question of Faith', 'DBN' or 'House of Shame' are showing, by the use of guitar and drums, how heavy-current can combine Guitar Rock and Electro to an equal concept for clubs and stages. The coactions of aggressive guitars, fat drums and warm Synth parts are building the typical sound of Heavy-Current. The lyrics have a central place in the band's work, whereas the human being is the central topic, powerfully and emotionally realised with Jan's voice. heavy-current. de - myspace /heavycurrent sonorium.de - myspace /sonoriumrecords
