| | Priscilla Herdman Moondreamer CD Priscilla Herdman Discography of CDs
Herdman's rich, sweet voice makes these simple lullabies seem like cozy clouds for parents and kids alike. For every parent that's cringed to Barney and Elmo, here is a disc that you might throw on long after the little one's are tucked in bed. The musicianship, with guests like fiddlemaster Jay Ungar, is first rate to boot. ~ Tim Sheridan
** Winner of a 2005 Parents' Choice Classic Award **** Winner of a 1998 Parents' Choice Gold Award **Moondreamer is Priscilla Herdman's third album of music for children and families, and her tenth release overall. It's a marvelous collection of lullabies culled from a diversity of sources and lovingly rendered by what The New York Times' Stephen Holden has called "one of the clearest and most compelling voices of contemporary folk music." Moondreamer is a companion piece to Stardreamer, Priscilla's highly acclaimed and successful previous lullaby collection. "Priscilla Herdman's Moondreamer..... is a dream of a recording. Herdman is an ideal companion to the sandman. She sings tunes both contemporary and traditional that have a touch of silliness and lots of tenderness....." Nancy Maes - Chicago Tribune, August 6, 1998"Her clear angelic voice [is] wrapped around the ... fine and eclectic group of tunes that fit together perfectly." Publishers Weekly, September 14, 1998"This all combines to create a listening experience that leaves you feeling safe and warm with a sense that everything will be pretty much about the same in the morning." Matt Watroba - SingOut! 43:2, Fall 1998 Priscilla Herdman: vocals, Al Petteway: guitar, Donald Sosin: piano, Jay Ungar: fiddle, Abby Newton: cello, David Hornung: accordion, Scott Petito: fretless electric bass, Anne Hills: harmony vocals, Cindy Mangsen: harmony vocals & guitar. Produced by: Abby Newton & Priscilla Herdman.

| | They Might Be Giants Here Comes Science CDs (2009) With DVD
Moondreamer album
$15.59 Routinely described as "quirky," and "zany," They Might Be Giants have always seemed like self-consciously intellectual adults trying their darndest to hold on to childhood. It makes sense then, that John Flansburgh and John Linnell would eventually start making music expressly for children. HERE COMES SCIENCE is the group's fourth effort to this end, following albums about numbers, letters, and all other manner of kid-centric topics. Here, TMBG point their microscope towards the physical world and its phenomena. In addition to more predictable topics like dinosaurs ("I Am a Palentologist") and the Periodic Table ("Meet the Elements"), the duo actually addresses more complex, but no less essential, concepts such as the fluidity of scientific fact; "Why Does the Sun Shine?" maintains that the sun is made of gas, while the following song, "Why Does the Sun Really Shine?" corrects that earlier assumption, revealing that the celestial body is, as more recent theories dictate, composed of plasma. Throughout, They Might Be Giants are unafraid of using advanced vocabulary and introducing thoroughly adult ideas, trusting that, with the help of the group's trademark talent for stick-in-the-head ...
